Delivery reminds me a lot of Perry's Still They Ride Budakon 83 performance. Love soaring vocals! One reason why he's in my top 3 vocalists. :D

deb, that is great.... it does sound like the intro to Little Wing.. wow that tune is powerful...... vocals are amazing, but that guitar tone is crisp and really dialed in..

Yep that's Jack Blades (bass). I think this is from 2004 or so. Jack and Eric were in TMG a few years ago, along with Tak Matsumoto (guitar) and Craig Frazier (drums). I have this dvd and the audience is quite big, so they must have been fairly popular in Japan.

Here's another clip from it, Tammy. Gotta love Jack, he just digs playing music doesn't he!

Thanks, Deb. I just saw Blades/Shaw about a month ago & he does, indeed, have a really good time performing.

LOL, you can tell you're a guitarist Lar. :) I hear great guitar, you hear crisp and dialled in. I can go on and on with adjectives about a voice, but don't know anything about guitar besides what I think sounds good and what doesn't.

I was absolutely thrilled when I found out both JSS and EM were performing at MRfest!
I have a few Mr. Big cds too, but play Mr. Big's Greatest Hits the most.......got all my favorites on it (Shine, Take a Walk, Daddy/Brother, Take Cover, etc.) :D TMG is more along the lines of rock like mr. big and his solo stuff can be rockish (I'm Going Sane) or more soulful/mellow (Somewhere In The Middle). Both sides of his voice are great, but I find myself listening to his soaring ballads/rocking out vocals a little more. :) Looking for some of his early Eric Martin Band stuff now.

Totally agree Niggy! :)

Question for ya Lar (or anybody else that can tell)? In the video of my original post at around the 1:53 mark the guitar changes sound slightly. Is that something to do with the guitar or is that the bass overlapping on the exact same beat as the guitar? I keep rewinding but I can't tell? :? If it's a stupid question, sorry but it bugs me when I can't figure something out.

gosh dog!!.. your paying WAY too close attention.. but i think your right that the bass is overlapping.. the guitar sounds the same to me.. but his foot is on a pedal... it sounds like the bass..

here is a perfect example of how a small part of the sound really stands out and touches a fan.. to me.. the solo really builds and finishes so perfectly... that cat is good.. and hes a little dude.. that les paul looks so big..
