Oh, for God's sake.
Give us a break will you, Story Susie?
All that heart and emotion from an individual who's own fans crow about all the money he allegedly has from bending Schon/Cain over a barrel for all these years because of his brilliant cutthroat business accumen.
...sigh... As usual, you're equating two separate issues to somehow support your overall position, shallow Pa(L).
First off, being an emotional person doesn't make you a saint. It means you're an emotional person and more often than not, your emotional reactions affect your behavior and your choices. Tapping that emotional space and channeling it into your artistic endeavors takes talent. That's what was being discussed. Often the same thing it takes to yield superior quality in the artistic endeavors has its drawbacks elsewhere in life.
So about the whole separate issue money thing:
I don't blame Perry one bit for pulling in a check from the band he made a success, touring the songs he not only originated vocally but co-wrote and sure as hell made famous. Song writers get royalties from songs they don't even sing. If Journey wants to tour the greatest hits then Perry should see a piece of that.
Schon/Cain/Ross are responsible for themselves. They made plenty of money with Perry in Journey. What they did with that money is their problem. Herbie made just as much money as all of them. He had an equal share in the band as if he was the 6th member, but he was smart with his money.
If Schon and Cain couldn't succeed on their own without Perry, that's not his fault. I say this as a guy who wishes he never left and would love to see him return, but you know what? I don't have to walk in his shoes. It's his life, not mine and he doesn't owe me anything.
Stick that in your crack pipe and smoke it mah brutha from anotha motha!
