please reassure me that there will not be a Nazareth cult starting on the board now, especially since we are plagued with the demons of Dokken mania :D

I heard NKOTB are back for the attack. For all you non believers, you might want to rethink that bomb shelter.

Yeah I got it, but it's not all Perry. it was on the King Biscuit Flower Hour. He duets with a woman who has a nice voice. Annie somethin-

Aw, c'mon Deano...Nazareth is the shit, man. I've seen 'em a few times, long after their heyday, in clubs here in San Diego.

Me and a buddy shared a "spliff" (as they called it) and some Coronas with singer Dan McCafferty and drummer Darrell Sweet (who passed away a awhile back) a few years back in the tiny backstage dressing room at the Bacchanal, a long-gone but once-vital concert club here that was a part of my regular "beat" when I first started out writing about music back in the mid-80's.

We were eventually joined by three or four other fans, and the club's staff literally had to throw us all out after we started singing some really raunchy Scottish drinking songs under the direction of Sweet, who, like any drummer worth his salt, was the official comedian of the band.

Last time I saw 'em was at the House of Blues on Sunset Strip, not too long before Sweet passed away. While my friend and I were visiting with the band up in the Foundations Room after the show, Dan Aykroyd came up and introduced himself to us all.

Fun times indeed. Nowadays, only McCafferty and bassist Pete Agnew remain from the original lineup; Agnew's son Lee plays drums, and Jimmy Murrison now fills the shoes of departed original guitarist Manny Charlton.

If they add a date near here, I'll go, for sure.

;^)

Agree Jon Boy. I do like em, but I was saying we don't need the Nazareth train parked here in MR station hoggin up all the spots like Dokken.

That was my bitch.

The Dokken jokes are funny because Dokken is taken as serious as fuckin Kiss and don't tell me Kiss is real. Fuckin Posers!

Actually, there are now two Nazareths touring. Their guitarist from 17 years ago just formed another Nazareth with 3 American musicians, and the Agnew/McCafferty led Naz aren't too happy about it.

..and KROKUS ROCKS!!!

Hehe I did notice that all their tour dates have suddenly disappeared from their management's website.

Funny thing is, Manny recently stated on his website and in interviews how he is so much above paying Nazareth tunes and that he hated and was through with playing their songs.

Heyyyyy..... Great idea!

"Screamin' in the night, fighting for my life, I'd dieeeeee for you!"

Image

In the corner of the valley, we took him by surprise

The sound of steel rang loud, above the battle cries

I found her lying lifeless, dagger through her heart

I picked her up, and held her high, and I swore to be avenged

Swore to be avenged, oh swore to be avenged, oh
