Dodged a bullet, didn't happen! Was waiting on pins and needles to see how this guy would make out. If good, perhaps Neal would be watching and decide to dump Arnel????

Regardless of who is singing for Journey, I think it is in Journey's best interest not to dump anyone so fast after just hiring them. Great singers are plentiful in the world. It would take a lot more then just someone else being able to sing for them to flat out dump Arnel.

That would've been interesting to hear.. especially with feedback from Randy.

They probably figured that Randy would be very critical of anyone singing Journey. I know he has in the past. So, to avoid that, they just picked different songs.

The only dude left that could "possibly" do a decent rendition of ANY Journey song
is the fruitcake that used to be a stripper in a predominantly "male-oriented" nightclub.

Little Davie from Utard could probably put his own take on anything
and it would be impresive but I personally think Jason Castro (the guy with the dreads)
and David Cook (the Emo-Rocker) ruled last night.
Making Lionel Ritchie's "Hello" a some-what rocker was cool and
that kid's take on "Hallelujah" were very memorable.

Chekizie and the douche that looks vaguely like Orlando Bloom
will be packing their bags come Thursday.

As a former American Idol addict, Open Arms was actually done 1-2 seasons ago, when Clive Davis was the "guest" and picking songs for the contestants. He picked Open Arms for one of them and they were shot down mercilessly for the "wrong song choice", when they didn't even PICK their song that week.

Must be one of the girls singing it tonight as none of the guys took it on.

Case closed, let's all go home

Was it a joke that Augeri and JSS got dumped and Arnel got hired? If not, why wouldn't it be only natural that more "jokes" are soon to follow?

He usually is, but one of the girls sang "Faithfully" tonight, and he liked it. He said the reason he liked it was because she put a country twist on it and didn't try to copy Perry. He even said that she could make a hit country single out of it.

Clay Aiken sang it when he was a contestant. Didn't do too bad. I'm sure there's a Youtube of it somewhere, if one were inclined to care.

Yup, that's what he said, and he's absolutely correct..no one will ever sing it like Perry.

However, this girl was not Perry, she was herself and she did a damn good job, IMO.

Good exposure for the band too. 8)
