Will Arnel Pineda be Journey's final lead singer?

What do you think?. I personally think he won't be - given their track record. I also believe that they will never retire, after another year of touring and milking the train, they will just eventually fade away, stop touring at some point - no press release, no anything, just fade away like they did in the past.

I think if he left tomorrow, Neal would get back on YouTube and replace him without even thinking twice. The show must go on!

if people will still enjoy listening to the music and going to the concerts then there is no reason he should be

Anyone who thinks a band that is about to put out a new record is going to stop touring at the end of this year, is quite mistaken.

This lineup will continue for some times - either until Pineda blows his voice out, or (against all odds) Perry gets in shape for a one-off. Trust me - these guys are making almost as much coin now than they did in their heyday. With four separate alimony payments, I can guarantee you Neal will want to ride this Harley for at least another five years.

Someday perry will rejoin and sing with Journey. He will eventually get over whatever hangups he has and do it, be it for a song, album, concert or even tour.

As soon as he gets sick, or has any vocal problems he will be out the door unless,,,,,,,,,, They use tapes again. They will be watched this time

I believe they are in for one more singer. Arnel until they decide to retire. Once they "yearning" for another Journey tour comes into everyones heart after the retirement tour, I can see them regrouping without even less "original" members than they have in this version of Journey....maybe only one or two of them and possibly not including Neal or Jon together. Kinda like House Of Lords or Buckcherry...not necessarily good examples but examples none the less.

As a trusted and appreciated ally in the war against Neo Con MR posters(Lie Finder, Stuart and RWF), I have to say you are incorrect here. The Classic years made 50 times more coin than they do now.

Well lets see, between 75 and 08 we´ve seen Fleischman, Perry, Augeri, Soto and Pineda and almost Bolton & Chalfant.
If they keep this up we can add 5 more lead singers in 2115.
But who knows, Pineda might just live through this and surprise us all.

I think Kevin Chalfant will be Journey's singer before the band folds up shop. I still want to see a lineup with Chalfant and Rolie involved. Smitty can come along too, if he likes.

I always root for the good and believe in them..and I am not trying to be negative here..just realistic..this is one reunion I do not see happening ever.
We tend to remember things..well..as we remember them..Steve is aware that he would have a ton to live up to as far as what people would expect from him.
Why would someone do that to themselves. No matter what people say..the way they remember him is what they would expect/hope for.
It's just not that easy when you are that great. He's getting up there in age. He hasn't been singing..really..
People think that he was so great..so no matter what he has left..come on..you can do it..we'll take anything you have..I don't think so..I think people would be saying he should have stayed 'retired'

I see Dennis working with JY again before this happening.. :P
Now..Dennis working with Tommy again..this shall happen..

I think AP would give him a tough act to follow. Here's AP doing music like SP in his prime. I think this just puts more pressure/doubts on SP personally, which may still keep him from venturing out to sing in public again.

I think that Arnel will be the last. I see this as the final push toward becoming JOURNEY again, not that they haven't been to hardcore fans. They are`doing this differently than the last times, for example: Trying not to let the music out before the release, Arrival or giving it away, Generations-The Ellen Show, when was the last time you saw Journey on any national T.V. and Andrew says there will be more- and finally a singer who can sing the catalog. I think this is it.

I hope Mr Pineda is the last.

Go to YouTube and get Hugo from Evolution. Claim SP has rejoined the band, keep the spotlight off him, tape the music and play one round of major city tours, make 100 million dollars and retire.

Simple!

I think it depends on how long Arnel lasts. If if goes out after this tour than I see the band trying again. But if arnel is around for 5 years he may just be the last.

I think he'll be the last because, once 'Revelation' tanks (sorry...Journey isn't The Eagles or Garth Brooks) & they tour a couple of Summers in the States, they'll stop.

Even if Revelation tanks (not saying will bomb but it's not gonna be a huge seller) they won't stop touring. They need the $$ and Neal is addicted to touring. I think they'll continue to do the "dirty dozen" thing for quite a few more years. jmo

Poor choice of words. Neal loves what he does and still does it at a level that most guitarists only dream about.

It's not a poor choice of words because I didn't mean it's a bad addiction.

And I am thankfu11 for that.
He had a decade neat1y 1opped off his touring career by nostri1 head's refusa1 to work or quit. His batteries ovious1y sti11 have a 1ot of juice as a resu1t.
