Off, the bat I'm psyched for two reasons: 1) Journey's still going (I'm not going to speculate) with new material at that, and 2) they've gained a phenomenal singer who seems to be the closest that they've come to the genuine article.
Now, I laugh because looking over the posts in regard to news, interviews, concerts, YouTube clips, etc...
...do you people really know what you want and is it feasible?
Even though it's a generalization, just try and go with it:
"We want Steve Perry back."
"Arnel is the second coming of Steve Perry."
"We want new material."
"The newer albums are shit because they don't sound good." - personal sidenote, I liked the last three albums (ARRIVAL, RED13, GENERATIONS).
"Oh, the only reason the new song sounds good is because it's a knockoff." - Realistically, so much music steals from others and in this case they're stealing from the best with a formula that worked.
I could probably keep going, but I feel it's better left like this and can only hope you get the point.
Rock on,
Nick

I know you're just quoting someone Nick, and I don't get that comment. How can you knock yourself off? Boston did it many times then. I guess if they had an internet forum back in those days, people would be complaining about it there too.

As always, thanks for the replies so far. In regard to being a knock off of yourself, the idea was presented that one of the new songs is a take on Be Good To Yourself, which I agree I hear similarity, but I'm not going to put the song down because of it, I intend to enjoy it. Continue with the replies
