Andrew's top album list got me on a Gramm kick. I've been listening to his two 80's solos and found this on youtube.

The new CD from Lou is in the finishing stages and will be released on Spectra Records. We'll keep you posted once a release date nears.

He looks so young in the "Eight Days A Week" video - and looks great - that has to be mid '80s!

I really hate to make this post, because Foreigner has been one of my all-time favorite bands but... Sometimes it's just best to walk away from the mic! Foreigner made the best decision they could make by moving on with another singer. I'm one of the biggest fans Lou has, but he is making an absolute mockery of himself by still singing today. I hate to say it, but I'd rather never hear him sing live again.

It's so sad, because he nearly died a few years back due to a tumor. He's put on a good 100 to 150 pounds, and ALL of his vocal range is gone. He's constantly out of breath and it just makes me sad every time I see a new clip of him singing. I wish he would have just gone out on top.

He sounded better than that on the tour with Journey! At least I seem to remember that he did!

Nah...He gained maybe 75 pounds and has lost some of that in recent years. He's still chunky compared to the great shape he used to be in but who cares? As far as his voice, I think you're right. Who knows...Perhaps he'll refrain from trying to sing in the range he once had. He'd still sound great if that were the case.

That's probably somewhere between 87-89.

Lou Gramm is a class act..amazing man..and amazing human being..he has seen the light..

Here's one from '97...I think this was after the surgery but he sounds pretty good here.

It was a radio show in NYC to promote Ready or Not. I have the CDR here - amazing show and one of my fav ever live concerts. he also does Tin Soldier and a track that he says was new, but never made the next album.

Correction, this is a different show....the performance I have is even better I think. Same era though....late 80s.

I wondered what reception Perry would get coming back to sing publicly after 10 years out. Despite how much voice is there, the comparisons will always be there.

Its sad what happened to Gramm but he's gutsy to keep singing. Some say not a smart move, but it really is inspirational. Especially since music biz is all about image and marketing.

I don't buy a whole lot of new physical cds anymore. Just tracks off Amazon but Gramm's I'll make a point of picking up.

Check out this clip, Feb 2008. He looks a lot different but does a good job on it.

You know, watching the videos I'm just glad there is a Lou Gramm still here to sing, whether high, low, off-pitch or on-target. The alternative could be much worse. I just like the guy!

I knew some lady from California, who was also a lawyer, back when I had first joined BT who claimed that Gramm was a terrible vocalist because she had seen Foreigner live in concert back in the 80s and he was just horrible. She seemed to think he was a studio creation. I don't see how anyone can say that about this guy.

+1 on the vocals.. To me its.. Steve Perry,Brad Delp,Lou Gramm then everyone else.. Also,I have Lou's earlier solo projects including Shadow King..They are so good..I think I would take Lou's solo stuff over Perry's.. You should check out the song "When its over" .. I think its on Long Hard Look..such a cool song!

I'd take Lou also...Long Hard Look is great, Shadow King is also super cool, Foreigner rule.

Lou is one of the best. He sounds great singing 8 Days a Week. I'm not sure if that is a sound board recording or not but those vocals sound raw with no effects. The dude could flat out sing.

I seen him with Journey a couple of years back in Indy. He sounded a little rough then.

saw an interview with vivian campbell, where he stated that the original vision of shadow kings was for the band to be in the vein of free/bad co.. although i love shadow king, its very much a bruce turgon record, would have loved to here lou do a more bluesy record.
