I was listening to Arrival yesterday, and made me wonder what he's up to nowadays...

Any of you know? :)

There's also the 'Journey to the Cure' (I think) benefit gig coming up with Kevin Chalfant.

You'd THINK Steve would have a web site up for the fans that stuck by him. At least SOME kind of communication... however, Perry doesn't and he had a bazillion more fans, so I guess that doesn't mean anything.

He was a total pro. Left it all on the field. Good person and always came off professionally. Let the band move on without making a noise. When the time is right, we'll hear from him.

Do we know if he had any other choice?
If I was forced to lip against my will, as some here have argued, I'd be kicking and screaming all the way out the ampitheatre door.
Letting your reputation get destroyed is not being a "team player," that's just being an idiot.

Sure he did. He could've had some of his close fans and casual ones as well, come here and post how they made him do that, etc. Or he got backstabbed, etc. He didn't do that, total pro. :D    :D

Like many, I have met Steve A and thought he was as nice as can be. Beyond nice, really.
However, in the runup to Tapegate someone affiliated with the band described him as "great guy, but no ethics whatsoever."
My personal interaction tells me that's false, but its hard to tell anything from a meet n' greet.

Even if I wasn't forced to against my will, if they shouldered me with the blame for their mistakes you bet I'd be kicking and screaming too.

Met him 3 times and was always extremely nice. The second sentence I got to disagree too. Personally in my view, one cannot be a great person and have no ethics.

Steve is in fine voice. As I understand it the Tall Stories album has been finished and mastered so it shouldn't be too long before we hear of some kind of release date. Steve is also looking forward to the benefit gig in Chicago in July and also to Firefest in the UK in November, where he is assured of a great reception from the British fans.

While I know he genuinely cares a lot for his fans I don't think he has much to do with the internet and he rarely if ever visits any online forums.

Just pay me well and I don't give two dog dicks about the rest. I'm guessing this was the case. I can't fault the guy one bit. This falls on management's shoulders and Neal's and Jon's, but not Augeri's. Again, I'm not privy to all of the legal ramifications but if Neal and Jon were ok with lipping their catalog why should Steve Augeri give a shit? Perry was getting paid and he wasn't even performing. At least Augeri was screaming into a microphone (that wasn't on). I put Perry below even Augeri on this one.

You talk about SA like he was some anonymous roadie who could afford to duck behind the curtain.
He was the band's frontman. His career and future was on the line as much as, if not even moreso than Jon and Neals'.

It is not clear when I read these posts back that I was talking to Tito with the Schon mention.
I'm making that clear now, I was.

He has no future outside of Journey so if they said "Lip or you're gone" the choice is really quite simple. Lipping 20 shows made him more money than he'll make the rest of his career. Again, he made the right choice for Steve Augeri.

What future...or career for that matter. His future and career was Journey. Even excluding that, with his throat problems his career was in serious doubt. Therefore nothing was on the line, if they alleged is true. He was in a no lose situation.
