Now it can be told!

Hey all!

Exciting news today that I can finally share with everyone. For several months we have been planning to take Frontiers to another level, and become a full time touring band - and to allow myself greater time to take advantage of writing and recording opportunities I've been wanting to do. It's been a grueling process, with working in new full time band members, incorporating, getting schedules together and getting all of the technical and financial side of things prepared.

The original plan was to "retire" from my full time job next Monday, but apparently word has leaked about my plans and my employer is attempting a pre-emptive strike, as I've been called back to the terminal at noon today (no doubt to tender my "resignation"), so it appears this will be a week ahead of schedule...

I just want to say that there has been an incredible amount of work and luck that has fallen into place to make this a reality...Not only from my obvious experiences with Journey over the past year, but also many, many people close to home who have helped out and made this possible - Including the current band members Jim, Barry, Mike, and Chad, who have been here over the past 6 years and understand the significance of moving forward, as well as the many friends who have helped out.

I want to tell all of my friends at the MR community this - If there is one thing I can impress upon people that I've taken away from the life-changing experiences of this past year - Believe in yourself. Believe in your strengths, your dreams and what you can accomplish if you dedicate yourself. Never settle for "enough." Look around you, people, and think about what sparks that fire in your heart. Never let that go, and make it as much a part of who you are as your fingerprint - Your stamp on this world. For me, it hasn't been impersonating Steve Perry in a tribute band, but being first and foremost an entertainer...It's who I've been since before I can even remember putting on "shows" in front of my neighborhood way back when. Each of us has that capacity to be true to who you are - For most of us that truth becomes obscured with the wants and needs of the daily rat race - the "need" to toe the line and the material desires to stay one step ahead of our neighbor. I have certainly benefitted from my 12 years in the corporate world, and I certainly wouldn't be in the position I am today without having the ability to save money and plan. But more than that, I want to wish each of you to make your world a better place by staying true to yourselves and never stop believing in the possible.

Off of my soap box now, folks...Time to type up the resignation letter....Have a great week!

Wow, Jeremey! That is awesome news!!! Good luck with this new venture! I can speak from experience that it can be really tough to not have the regular paycheck coming in, but what a gift to be able to follow your dreams!

You mentioned that you have incorporated. PM me if you need a good accountant to help you sort through all of the tax stuff. No, I'm not an accountant, but I love the one I have! She's very reasonably priced as well.

Well said, Jeremey..I agree...people have to make a living to provide for themselves and their families but too many focus on just making more and accumulating things...how much is really needed?...they soon find it's never enough because money and things can't really fullfill you...they don't get that.. so they keep trying to get more thinking that if only they have a bit more they will find what their looking for...they get greedy and let things and money define who they are instead of being secure within themselves of their own real worth ..
Sadly many make it all about money, what kind of car they drive, what kind of house they live in..what stuff they have..what their outward appearance is....all these things really mean nothing and when left as the only definer it does not speak well of them..just the opposite... and just accumulating becomes hollow..focusing on the outward becomes hollow when they should be looking within...but when we instead focus on accumulating love, doing what we love to do and have a passion for, and giving to those we love ...this is what we should let define us and what will really fullfill us. Those that only accumulate "stuff" rarely give little back in return..they just take....and too many are unhappy in what their doing to get it.
Those that look within themselves and within others...and who follow their heart and their passion come to know what worth really is....when they find this and give it to themselves then it radiates out and they can give and share it with others...thats when we become wealthy of heart....which is what really fullfills us. ..and, I may add, it's not a burden to carry like the superficial and all the "stuff" becomes.
Congratulations Jeremey, I wish you all the best on the new journey you will be traveling...when you follow your heart you will gain an abundance of joy and happiness within that will spread to those around you...not only giving to yourself but to others as well. Your on the right path..have a safe trip and avoid the pitfalls on the road. :)

First Arnel gets his dream.
Now Jeremey's getting his.

HEY GOD, WHEN'S MY TURN???

:)

Very cool post Jeremey! Gives hope to us still plodding along. So, if you're going to tour, is it touring as the Journey Tribute and an origianal thing or are you guys doing your complete own thing? I see in the post you're saying writing, etc. Did you guys get signed or what exactly? I might've missed the other posts regarding this. Exciting! In my opinion, it's much cooler that you'll be able to do your own thing rather than someone else's.

Good luck man.. I really wish you guys were closer to me. I would very much enjoy drumming and singing backups in a Journey tribute. I can play Smith's feel pretty damn good since I have been studying his drumming for like 15 years now and you have heard me sing so you know I can nail high backups !. Oh well.... Best of luck man.

I might be looking at the same deal with the Floyd Tribute I am doing at the moment. BiG PRODUCTION. 9 members, Major corporate sponsorship and possible tour offers for next spring/summer. Scared shitless about quitting my job though... Whew.....

check the promo clip if you have 5 minutes.

Good luck with it Jeremey.

With all due respect, I do have few questions for you though. 8) If I remember correctly, the main reason you turned down Journey , was because of family. You said more than once, even in your blog , that the main reason you didnt continue your adventures with Journey was because you thought it'd be hard on your wife and child. What has changed to the point where you settle for touring with your band for less money ? I think many of us would want to know , cause I bet you 9 out of 10 here wouldve chosen more money and touring with Journey? Is it cause you didnt think long term you could get along with Journey and its management ? Is it because you think you rather promote your OWN band?(In which case I think its about time you start writing your own material and change direction to a band of your own). Care to educate us? Thanks.
