Nice. How many days has it been available over there in the U.S., again?

Didn't end up getting to another Wal yesterday or today so I'll be there early tomorrow for my copy!
Did you get one yet?

NO! I tried two stores but no luck. The one I ordered on line says it will be here tomorrow, but I am going to Walmart on my way to work to pick up another copy.

Just got mine -- went up shortly after midnight and they weren't on display yet. A very nice lady who worked there went back and dug thru boxes to get mine, so I took 2 of them! Popped them in the car as soon as I left the store. Here is a picture, and if you look closely, the CD peeking out at the bottom is not from this set -- I pulled it from my changer to make room for Disc 2.
My verdict is still out on the production... It's pretty good on Disc 1 in my car, but sounds a little muddy on some songs. Same happened to me with the new Whitesnake CD, though, and only seems to be certain discs. Most sound killer there! Disc 2 (re-recorded hits) sounds pretty good as well, but the production is just a little lacking there.... not quite the quality of the originals, but they still did an admirable job. Anyway... about to pop in the DVD and watch it while I work out.

I went to my local walmart a couple times this week, hoping some silly stock person might have popped them on the shelf unknowingly. No luck. Woman behind the counter told me they didn't get them in yet and they might not be available on the day of release.
It's likely that not enough stock was made to cover all the stores across country. This sounds like they're behind in producing the product more so that it being a "top seller". That's a common sales tactic to create demand. Tout that it sold out and it gets potential buyers to get rabid about getting a copy asap. Publishers do this all the time.

Midnight? Must be another of those SuperCenters, eh? None of our Wals are 24 hours.
What's the cd peeking out?

This one is actually not a SuperCenter, though we have several. Most of ours are 24/7. But I'm in the heart of Wal Mart Country... LOL!
The CD is a church sermon, 3rd in a 3-part series called "Toxic People" (aka, "A-HOLES"). That particular message is on toxic relatives...
By the way, a quick glance at the credits reveals that both discs were recorded at The Plant, and Kevin Shirley mixed the whole thing. That's what it claims, anyway. It will be interesting to hear what others think of the production.

Reminds me of the Nintendo Wii - that thing is still hard to come by.
I tried talking a Walmart employee to selling early, but no deal...No use getting him fired. After work picking up shoes and new Journey

The lady that helped me was really sweet about it -- she came out with the discs hidden behind her back and then grinned when she produced them to me. I think she knew I was a fan and was excited.

Kev did mix it all...did all the work on Disc One and co-produced Disc Two - where JC had done most of the basic track recording. That's why there is a slight diffeerence in audio quality.

I was real excited about mine too but the guy that was working there didn't care. I don't think he was "all there". But I talked to a real nice lady early in the day to see if they would have the album available at midnight and she kept going on about Arnel and how amazing he is since they have been playing the promo there a bunch.
Watched the DVD, Great! Listening to the CD, just awesome!!!
It took me 2 visits to 2 different stores but...

I came home with 3 sets.
Store #1 wasn't ready at all. According to the late night girl, the girl with the key wouldn't be at the store till 5.
Off in my car, I bailed and drove 9 minutes to the other 24 hour Wal-Mart. My wife and I ambled through the store to the back to the record store and walked straight to the J section where I see...nothing but a card that says Journey's Revelation will be sold exclusively starting June 3rd. Picked up that card and walked to the first important looking employee. He said he'd go look and after 15 mins...score.
I then took my purchase up to the front, and the girl asked, "Why are you getting this?"
I replied, "For Arnel, and to support the music I love. Plus, I was there at the concert where the DVD was filmed."
She then said,"When was that, this week?"
I said, "No it was early March."
She then told her co-worker that this is the band that has that new lead singer one of their friends keep talking about.
She adds, "They say that this new guy is really talented."
I picked up my copies and told her back,"Pick up a copy, you'll like it."
And then I listened in full stereo sound on the way back as loud as my Sony CD Player could handle it. The smile is large indeed.

Each time I look at the girl in your signature, the way she leans forward makes me think she is about to take a dump.

About 20 years ago, one of the first 24 hour SUpercenters in the country opened about 30 miles from my home. My best friend and I would drive up there at about midnight on Fri or Sat nights just to watch the people. Kind of creepy. Especially odd was whole families, including toddlers and infants, piling out of their '72 Pontiac Catalina station wagon.
We always wondered why those kids weren't in bed.

Editing my own update....JC and Neal both produced the re-records with KS.

I am pretty disappointed with walmart. I went there today to spend about $160 and pick up the Journey cd.
found the lady stocking all the new stuff. none of her boxes had anything. no promotions up (heard people have seen this) etc....
she looked outback. got the manager and told him. they have no idea why they dont have it. they have alot of cd's there. not even any showing in stock. they said they never put any out either and didnt get any that they can see.
pretty disappointing, this is the second time I have gone to walmart for an exclusive cd. great to see they are putting that to work.
was still gonna pick up all my pool supplies and other things but decided why give them my business. I will give it to the local pool store.
needless to say I am pretty pissed and really hate walmart.

call 1-800-walmart and note the store # you went. The VP of Walmart Marketing Dept. e-mailed a poster at Journey Forum to call that # because they want to make sure they are aware of what's happening at these stores and that they are excited about Journey. They expected all stores to be stocked midnight of June.

Just picked mine up...
There were no CDs out yet, but a bunch of boxes were on a cart next to the CD aisle. I saw several boxes that had "Street Date 6 3 08" printed on them, so I asked someone for help. He said they should have already been put out, but looked through the boxes and found the Revelation CDs.

Pf.
My WM excursion was clusterbleep this AM.
Got a brand new super one right near me, I roll in, the shit's not out yet (of COURSE

) had to go up to the desk ask for new releases, get the 1,000-yard-stare.
Come on, man get yer shit together 15 minutes later the guy comes out the back with a new box of Revelations (turns out the prior one they'd put out after midnight had sold).
Me and another dude hipchecked the guy away and grabbed into the box.
Picked up the Dirty Harry remaster on dvd, too

Got it this a.m., they were well stocked, I was curious & actually counted how many were there real quick, LOL! There were 47.....46 now

lol. I wonder how many were there before I got there.
They were also playing promos in the store for it. Didn't have too much time to listen all the way through yet, was able to hear all of NWA & Like A Sunshower... love this song, the music is awesome, & yes I like the sappy lyrics, so there, lol. Listened to snippets real quick of the rest, in a hurry, & really like What I Needed a lot too. Will have more time later to listen more to everything, haven't even checked out the re-records yet, will have to check out the DVD later too, lol.
