Very nice tourist town! On the Lake and in the summer it is filled with yatchs big and small. Nice atomsphere with small shops and lots of fun! In close proximity is Interlochen which is a nationally known music school where world renowned performers show up in the summer to perform. You'd like the atomsphere and the city folk; but it's a tourist town in the summer! Expensive but very nice!

Charlevoix is also nice and in the same general area; you can fly right into the airport in Traverse City. Both are tourist towns in the winter and summer; snow in the winter for the skiers and lake sports for the summer. Just bring money to spend.

Actually surprised Journey has not been to Interlochen to perform! It's beautifully wooded for miles and miles! Huge music arena! You get lots of big names coming through to sing! It's mostly a singing and performing school!

Now this is a town I'm familiar with!!! Marabelle has filled you in quite nicely!!! Will you be there for the Cherry Festival?
It takes place the second week of July, ALWAYS FUN with extra added events going on!!! There's the Bay Side Stage
w/different musical guests each night, some big names, some not!!! The Air Show will be taking place but, the BEST part
is the VIEW. The Lake, which looks like an ocean, is BREATHTAKING!!!!! Shopping ~a lot of crafts being sold at this time, as well as the stores and specialty shops!!
Money, yes!!! Cape Cod did you say? Yes, similar!!! Golf courses galore and water parks.
My family has a place outside of Traverse City on Little Traverse Lake and my sister lives in Cadillac, this place is VERY special to me....GOOD TIMES!!!

BTW!!! If you ever visit during the winter months and decide to ski....my sister works ski patrol on the weekends,
she will SAVE you if necessary!!! :D

Oh good GOD, the LAKE! You're talkin' to a girl who GREW UP on the beaches of Cape Cod and Rhode Island...

Michigan is the GREAT LAKE STATE!!! Winter Water Wonderland....blah, blah, blah!!! The Michigan shoreline is
larger than the entire eastern coastline of the United States.
If it weren't for portions of Indiana and Ohio we'd be an island!!!
Lake Michigan, which is what feeds the Bay in Traverse City, is the second largest lake. One cannot
begin to imagine how huge these lakes are until they see them for themselves!!! I hope you
guys go....you will fall in love with the place!!!

Next Year~ Mackinac, the city(Mackinaw), the island, the bridge.....OMG!!!!!
