The digital downloads are still available but when you do a search on their site under music you get nothing. I googled it instead and came up with this page.
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product. ... id=9864208
Strange. You can't even back order it.
Arrival, Escape and the other albums are still available though.

Wal-Mart doesn't devote a lot of shelf space to titles that aren't Evergreen (Greatest hits Packages, Diamond Sellers, etc.). The store has two more exclusives coming next month with Neil Diamond and Sugarland. Foreigner is also on the schedule in the very near future. They need room for those albums when they start up with their promotions.

I believe there were only so many manufactured for Walmart and that was it. I think its the same deal with all of their packages. But GB knows better than I.

Well, Eagles and AC/DC still have units available from their exclusives so I'm not sure how it works. Eagles album is 7X platinum so I guess they're still making money off of it. AC/DC's album has stalled after going multi-platinum in a matter of weeks when it first hit the store, so I expect it to disappear very soon, now that sales have stopped.

I have no specific info on this particular package, but that is usually the deal. Walmart buys a set number up front and that's it.

I think Reo SpeedWagon really made out with their deal. If they get paid up front and the album doesn't move, I imagine they still get to keep the money for all the discs that were pressed. Wal-Mart can't even give that damn album away.

Well, that would be a bitch, especially if an album is very close to hitting a mark like gold, platinum or multi-platinum.

You're right, that will suck big time. I'm just wondering though if they can finally sell their songs at itunes.

Well I know it has been hard to find on store shelves for quite some time, but not being available online or even available for back order online? That just seems odd.

Maybe they should have put the words "
Limited Edition" on the package somewhere?
Or this aint gonna last either (oops did I just type that outloud?)

Yeah it's hard to imagine that Journey is being held to an exclusive distribution deal with Walmart when there is no product to distribute.

Revelation's sales have been stalled to a huge degree with the package not being available at Wal Mart. I'd venture to guess that they've lost sales in the tens of thousands, if not more. It's simply not available anymore, save for a few copies here and there, and was still selling very well when the well ran dry. That was months ago. I would imagine the only sales outlets are the official site and the actual concerts.

When I was looking for it...I could not find it anywhere...finally got it on e-bay...that to me is poor planning for the hype that they want to create! Especially when they are on tour now and you can't buy the CD someone was not thinking!

I was just in my local WalMart Music Dept last weekend and they still had copies available. I guess when they sell out, they're not ordering more.

Our WM's have them as well, but Journey did not tour here last year.
Perhaps after the show in August they will sell out!!!

Right, Steve. Journey just became "pool product"
The only thing even remotely related to Journey and pool was when Perry went on his hiatus after ROR and Friga and Fro were left standing with their dicks in their hands. Over a a game of POOL, someone said something about bad english and a band name was born.

Shouldn't it eventually be available on iTunes?

Am I mistaken, or didn't the Eagles deal allow them to sell in other outlets after a set amount of time (1+ years)? I thought for sure we'd see Revelation on iTunes by now.

I used to work for a manufacturing company whose largest client was Walmart. If it doesn't sell, they pull it, quite simply to make room for the next bigger, badder product. If you didn't deliver everything on their order (short ship) they will yank your entire product line. I had to short change the rest of the country JUST so Walmart got their quota. I can't tell you how many angry sales reps I had. But that was management's decision.. keep shipping to Wallymart or else. Walmart doesn't pull any punches. Since the other items are still there, I imagine it didn't sell enough for them to bother keeping it in their warehouses.
