I just watched a Styx concert on VH1. it was awesome,didnt miss Dennis gay Young. They sounded great, and had a high school band help them out.Journey should try it.Styx still kicks ass.Im glad i saw it,i dont remember shit from the concert I saw last month

Tommy has enough well known songs that he sang lead on, Styx can pull it off. Crystal Ball, Too Much Time on My Hands, Renegade, Blue Collar Man, Fooling Yourself, Boat On The River, etc. I had Lights on the B-Side of my "Best Of Times" 45 and Played it more than the A-side.

That band is awesome, they rocked the place. Most of the rednecks where i live, never saw them before. they did put on one hell of a show. i just dont remember the last half,i regret getting that fucked up.

I've only seen them once, on the Paradise Theatre tour, My older sister went to all their shows from Pieces Of Eight forward to their 96 concert.

saw them in '91 on the edge of the century tour.the one time that tommy shaw was not in styx unfortunately.i think glen burtnik was in tommy shaw's place.it was in july of '91 and styx had a top ten single with 'show me the way'.i think styx was one of the few rock bands to have a top ten single in the 70's,80's and 90's.

I saw them on The main event tour ,they blew journey away each time,Journey was last, and there was no energy left when Journey took the stage

Styx is still really good.. dunno if I'd say they miss nothing without DDY though. Ideally, I'd love to see DDY come back as a frontman and have Gowan play keyboards... hell, Dennis as a solo act employs a hired gun to play most of the keyboard parts nowadays, so I mean, what's the harm? I'm sure Gowan would go along with it.

You may feel LG is not great at the singing But others do.Love DDY and love to see them with him.But that will never happen again.Gowan is great at whatever he wants to do. Dennis is far from gay... he has been married to his high school sweetheart forever. And I truly think we will see Styx w/ DDY again before they all hang 'em up. I think that's a far more likely reunion than SP w/ Journey, especially since Tommy and Dennis have expressed sentiments of reuniting in interviews over the last few years. It's mostly between JY and DDY I think, at this point.

Cyclorama was an awesome album and so was 100 Years From Now (DDY's latest solo offering). I can't imagine how good an album would be at this point if they put their heads together one or two last times.

Saw Styx last year, I thouhgt Gowan was a brilliant showman. DDY was a great voice, but Gowan was good.

I watched it too.....and yes it was excellent...loved the band with them they looked like they were having a ball, but I do miss Dennis....he was the voice of Styx.

This concert is a from a few years ago. It is also available on CD/DVd/Blu-ray.

I was at that concert... it was a disastrous night... it kept pouring on us. The actual live mix was terrible too, you couldn't hear the guitars or keyboards at all over the orchestra. Lead vox were weird too. And the kicker was stopping the show for 30 minutes while we were getting rained on to set up Christmas stage decorations in July to launch into two Christmas songs... very bizarre indeed, the DVD filming notwithstanding. Luckily, the DVD turned out great. You have a point regarding the sporadic touring. It would have to be done once TS, JY and co. finally burn themselves out on the road, probably as either once-off shows or one final, small tour with an orchestra.

Perry would have to put out something new for this to be a statement that can be argued...you can't compare the two....voice to voice currently.....hopefully that will change
