Who's Crying Now

I understand there are only so many ballads they can play at the concerts, but I personally prefer Who's Crying Now over Send Her My Love or Lights at concerts. Neal's guitar at the end of the song is great for concerts. I will be seeing them in Bristow, VA on August 28th and was quite disappointed when they didn't play it when I saw them 3 yrs ago. It should be one of the dirty dozen plus it is one of their highest charting singles back in the days. Wondering what you all felt.

A great song with wonderful guitar, this is one song I was disappointed they didn`t play at Birmingham, IMO a far better song than more than half of the dirty dozen.

WCN should be played at EVERY concert. Much better than Lights and LTS In fact, Lights and LTS are two of the worst songs in recorded history.

WCN should be played in place of Tantra, if they're taking out Mother Father. They are following a band playing only greatest hits, so why add another new song in place of a dirty dozen? They have enough new songs in there. Add another great classic. I saw in some of the reviews from UK fans mentioning WCN not being played as if they expected it. Or keep Tantra in and take out City of Hope. I really like Tantra live.

This is a great song, one of Journey's best ballads. Why are they leaving all of songs, this one out? I thought it was weird they didnt include this song on the Manila DVD either. Take out Open Arms and replace it with Whos Crying Now.

I agree with having WCN in the setlist. I do like that they have brought Send Her My Love back into the mix. I think those two songs fit well with the darker themes they are hitting with Eclipse.

Can't stand any of those tunes. So tired of them WCN is so boring. Neal's part's cool, but dang... put People and Places in there! ;) Open Arms is a great song and goes somewhere. WCN just plods along to me. I never play that one.

I concur with Dan on LTS. It's horrible, Perry or no Perry, and should permanently be removed from the set. 'Lights', on the other hand, is a catchy sing-a-long that the band doesn't butcher and should thus probably be kept.

'Be Good To Yourself' needs to go; Arnel sounds great on it, but the canned backing vocals and synthesizers suck live. 'Only the Young' ought to get the boot too.

Throw in Who's Cryin' Now and IBAWY.

Why is the band still playing a song about one of Perry's girlfriends fucking around on him long after his departure from the band?
Maybe it was Neal boning the girlfriend and Neal has tagged that as a victory song.

Agreed. You have to keep Lights....I like SHML, WCN and Lights in the setlist. Hell, axe Open Arms...and before you all say "Never" they didn't play it for a bunch of years in the mid decade.

OA doesn't fit well with the darker album, SHML and WCN do.

And I still have YET to hear it played live once. It's my curse when picking venues... maybe I'll get lucky someday.

Don't you know? Because Deb loves the bluesy, soulful emoting Pineda does during it. If I had a link, I'd post it here. Emotes. Fuck, that shit grates my every last nerve.

Have to admit, Schons simplistic yet beautiful ending solo is worth the price of a ticket. Damn Perry sang the shit out of that song. Ironically, Schon said "Perry sang his ass of on this tune," and Perry was said to have fought Columbia on keeping the solo on the song...they wanted to cut it off.

I've been asking why they don't play IBAWY for the last 3 years. They've got a guy that can sing it, but yet they won't play it.

If we could just leave off some of the Eclipse stuff, we'd have enough time for all of these classics...

I am just pissed that ESCAPE is not in the set list so far...

Also, what about FEELING THAT WAY/ANYTIME? What about JUST THE SAME WAY? What about...GIRL CAN'T HELP IT? How about STILL THEY RIDE? or AFTER THE FALL?

Some lost forgotten classics out there....

Thats one of my favorite Journey tunes. Steve's vocals on that song are unbelievable. Unfortunetly I dont think Neal likes the ROR songs very much.

Are you a new fan? I am asking seriously. Journey has never "changed up" their setlists. Every night, the same goddamned set list. They are too rigid and non flexible. I am serious- they should borrow a tip from Brucey- he has fans bring in signs, requesting tunes. So every night, the setlist is copletely different. It's nice if you're a hardcore fan, and one that follws the band on the road. You get to see different songs. Case in point. isn't DrFuFu in GB following the band live? Whoopie! She gets to see the same exact setlist every night she sees them. That sucks. When I went to Bruce's LA shows last year, I heard 49 different songs in 2 nights, meaning that 11 were played on BOTH nights. That's pretty cool. He played 29 songs first night and 31 the next. Anyway, Journey are talented enough I would think, to remember songs....unless Valory can't remember notes(He couldn't remember Winds of March or Stay Awhile, when Soto was with them. Perhaps Pineda is not that rehearsed in the older songs, IDK. Could you imagine though, halfway through Journey's set, they collect signs? And you might just get some older gems, like After the Fall, Sweet and Simple or even Higher Place....that would be cool IMO.

About Girl Can't Help It. Neal despises that song. he told me through gritted chicletts, he will never play "that fucking gay song" ever again.

And you know a song they should be playing on this harder edged tour? Chain Reaction would fit in nicely, yes?

They should be playing harder edge songs by the time they hit Germany, Sweden and other parts of Europe, where it's appreciated. London / UK is pretty pussified when it comes to music, much like the USA. What can you expect of fans who produce stars out of people like Susan Boyle and Paul Potts and buy a gazillion records? Paris? I really don't care what they play for those stanks. Maybe they can just eat a bunch of beans and get up there and fart. They probably account for about 100 album sales from Journey's entire catalog.

I don't care what they dump as long as they bring back Kohoutek!!

I digress. I seem to remember hearing Neal in some interview say that he hated playing Who's Cryin Now. That might be why its not being played.

Who else could go for an official Departure Tour DVD???

Has anyone heard this song, ever, from this lineup? I still wonder why not.
The only thing I can think of is that Ross can't pull it down. Randy get in there
for Ross!

Seriously, if they pulled this song out for an encore the place would go fucking bonkers!

There is a certain set of RoR songs that they will not play due to them being "too poppy" and GCHI is the other one. BTW Ross loves those songs and can certainly play them. Just sayin

'I'll Be...' is no more poppy than some of the other songs they play. In fact, there's a definite mood there and potential attitude Neal can breathe into that song. Features one of his best solos, too.

Pineda said GCHI is already assigned to Deen should they put it in the setlist.
As far as IBAWY, that's a song that needs a bit of soul to go with it. Not sure if Deen or Arnel have what it takes to do the song justice live.

He's got the pipes but Ithink IBAWY needs something more than that. Like the song "Walks Like A Lady", a little improv goes a long way in making those songs even better live. From what I've seen (so far), Arnel is pretty much a 'by the numbers' guy when he's on the stage.

LTS is another one.
Having a little bit of 'brother' in you goes a long way in making a mediocre song at least a little more tolerable live.
