I find myself now rooting for Journey to never be what they were with SP(which we know isn't possible due to the current musical landscape and the inferior(but still great) vocalist, and also rooting for them to still be one of the greatest melodic rock bands of all-time, in their current state, which they obviously are and are a million times better than any new schlock being put out these days.
Bottom line.......Thanks to every member of Journey. We all know who still holds the keys to the legendary Journey, but I'm glad it still goes on.

In the early eighties everything fell into place for them, they had the hits and a charming vocalist with a golden voice that made them shine.... but as always something that good couldn`t last forever.
They carried on and still have this musical legacy from their past to cherish and because of that have no choice other than find a singer who can do justice to that legacy.
I`ve seen shows with Perry,Augeri,Soto and Pineda and although I have the most fond memories of the eighties concerts I had a great time on all shows with various singers and different incarnations of the band.

They're still touring very well, they're just not going to set the world on fire creatively from this point forward. By being a band that makes money off it's back catalog more than anything else, us fans of the older lineups should be happy because that in essence gives reward to those old retired guys just as well as the new kids on the team.

Anybody still rooting for a new Perry record to magically appear and out-sell Journey?
Some want this for Perry. Some want this just to symbollically thumb their noses at Schon.
Although unlikely, I think many still hope.

As much as I would love that, I'm still sane.

Actually, I stand corrected. It would probably have been a great idea to piggy back Eclipse off of an Escape themed tour.
