It takes too long for the other forum to acknowledge anything so I'm doing it here.
FORGET JOURNEY and their stupid legal problems. Keep calm and watch Steve Perry instead on YouTube do the Beach Boys in "In My Room" and leave your worries behind.

I've been hoping he would give us a little song during this time of isolation. This one was quite appropriate, having meant a lot to him as a young person. I can definitely relate!

Neal uploads a new guitar solo and then less than a week later Perry puts something new on youtube. You know Perry is watching everything Neal does.

I don't think there is any connection. Neal is always noodling on Facebook these days.

SP has always been a big fan of reverb and echo, but that was a little bit much. I do appreciate the musical gesture during these trying times. Always nice to hear or see something from him.

Yeah the effects were pretty heavy. But I've come to expect that from him. Still good to hear that core voice though. There are moments when it peaked through all of the reverb, etc.

Like I said in another thread. Mike Baird follows everything that George Tickner does. So why shouldn't Perry follow Schon? :P

I don't think it sounds that bad. This is originally a Beach Boys song and adding all the reverb and such somewhat reminds me of those harmonies so I don't mind it that much. To me, if he added some instrumentation, maybe a keyboard, and very slightly sped it up, I think it could be a good recording and single release right now.

Yeah, some instruments and a faster pace (similar to the BB original) would have been great. But, of course, this was not meant to be anything more than SP singing to
himself in his home. And, we're so glad he's sharing with fans. That distinctive vocal tone is unmistakable Steve Perry, and he's still got it.
