The Storm

I've had the band and the Storm on the brain for a bit. Living prior times, maybe.

I saw Chalfant live on the Storm tour back in the 90's in Indy. He was fkn incredible on vocals. As good or better than on the recording. I've had a listen to the old Storm stuff as compared Journey. IMHO, the Storm was as good as Journey ever was and Chalfant was as good as Perry, if not better, during that time period.

Chalfant and Ramos are the most underrated musicians out there. If you like Journey you can't deny this.

I was a big Storm fan. Saw them twice on their first tour. But no, they weren't better than Journey, they were different. Had their own vibe.

And no, Chalfant wasn't as good as Perry. No one was as good as Perry. Perry is Perry, and most would not have ever heard of Chalfant without Perry.

I get why people always want to make the comparisons, it's a natural one. But the Storm had their place, and Journey, in it's prime, couldn't be matched.

I am with you about The Storm and Chalfant being both extremely underrated. Journey should have hired KC as soon as SP started playing games and never looked back.

I think you may misinterpreted what I said or I said it poorly. No one has ever been better than Perry. What I said was Chalfant might have been better than Perry during that time. IMHO Chalfant on this material was as good as Perry from 78-81. Frontiers, maybe not. That was the deal in my mind.

I was super excited when I heard Journey had regrouped adding KC and Gregg. Perry was on his solo tour and it looked like there was no hope of him returning so KC was the next best thing at the time. When I 1st heard I've Got A Lot To Learn About Love I truly thought it was possible that was how Perry sounded after after his time away. And to have Gregg back was a dream come true.
