So, this is what he sounds like in 2026 when it's live. He's obviously struggling badly and I feel for him.

Good to have this as a reference should things start to get dubious once the tour is underway.

Not going to sugarcoat, this sounds awful and unfortunately makes me think I should have punted on the one last concert with the current Journey. Overreaction? Maybe. Hope so.

I've only left a Journey show less than happy twice (out of over 30). One was when Steve A couldn't sing a lick. Painful to watch and listen to. Second was a few years ago when Arnel was spatting with Neal (reportedly) and held screaming (literally) notes way too long into Neal's guitar solos. Neal shot a few looks of WTF to other bandmates, but seemed to handle it well. 2nd row, directly in front of Neal. I was very uncomfortable, to the point where thinking in real time this may be Arnel's last show with the band. Left show thinking I didn't want to experience that again.

The type of performance on this youtube would not be one I'd want to listen to for that "one last time" and would make me kick myself for the big bucks spent on 3rd row seats.

Leads back to the question...would you rather listen to that...or vocals with some assistance and not have to wince throughout the show?

Very very sad and hard to watch/listen to. Wishing Arnel the best in the coming year but that is not a voice in any condition to handle more than a pregame television spot let alone a major year long tour.

Live music should be live. Otherwise, they might as well do a hologram tour with Perry instead.

Yeah, it's over

I won't be making the trip over the pond for the final tour - I was debating it, maybe for one of the 2027 shows if/when they announce it. But it's either going to sound awful or there will be a lot trickery. A little bit of live auto-tune is something thats just expected now with big acts (rightly or wrongly) but this will be too much.

Love Arnel, love his time in the band, love To Whom It May Concern, love Tantra, love What I Needed. But these next couple of years are going to be rough.

Went into mid-video and lasted 30 seconds. Stick a fork in it.
