Holy fuck. You guys are fucking DELUSIONAL. I have you talking about Oakland and the playoffs in the same sentence and Matt calling the pathetic 3-11 Girl Scouts "competitive"

You both need to step away from the crack pipe, IMMEDIATELY. I'm disgusted at how bad my hometown team is and they're 9-5 and in first place, and you guys are talking about some of the worse teams in the NFL as being potential "playoff" teams or "competitive". WOW. I hope you both have drinking problems, so there is at least a rational explanation for this insanity!

I never once said playoff or even indicated that they'd be above 500. All I'm saying is that had some of Mangini's goons not been playing all year doing absolutely nothing productive, we might not have gone out and embarrassed ourselves on multiple occasions (see: Packers game, both Ravens games).

Read what I wrote. I never said you mentioned the playoffs. I said that my Oakland friend mentioned the playoffs, and that you called the Girl Scouts "competitive", which is simply RIDICULOUS. They're fucking 3-11 and one of the worse teams in the NFL. The word competitive doesn't belong in the same sentence with the Browns!

Read what I wrote my tempestuous Bostonian friend :

Ehwmatt wrote:God Manweenie is stupid for playing that bum Jamal Lewis all year. If we woulda cut him as rumored we might have turned out to be a half decent football team

If you equate "half-decent" with competitive then we've got semantic differences of opinion here. All I'm trying to say is that we might not have been so miserably embarrassing and hard to watch if Mangini's goons hadn't gotten all season to stink up the place. Believe me, I'm not delusional enough to think we were making a run for 500 or the playoffs this year regardless, but we wouldn't have been downright unwatchable but for Magini's egotism. That's all I'm sayin, no more, no less.

In my second post, I said Cribbs is the only reason we have been "competitive" (in these games), meaning we wouldn't have a single win if it weren't for him...

Being competitive and not having a single win without a given player (which isn't what you said in your post) are too entirely different things. I stand by my post...you're not allowed to use the word "competitive" in the same sentence with a team who won their third game of the entire season today!

I thought the Bengals were going to score a touchdown up until that big hit which led to the fumble and 20 yard loss, they had the Chargers defenders on their heels until that moment. Rivers has been clutch this year in game winning drives. 46 seconds and he drives the Chargers down the field for the win.

Their 9 in a row looks far more impressive than the Colts "23" in a row (how bogus to use last season's stat) or whatever it is now.

You could see the anguish on the faces of the Bengals. I'm not a fan of San Diego but Rivers is the real deal. He plays hurt and he plays tough, unlike some of his team mates.

Having lived in NW PA for Tomlin's entire reign before this season, I have NEVER been that impressed with the guy at all. He just doesn't thrill me. Trav jumped down my throat before the Browns game when I said that, but I stand by it. The guy is at best a mediocre coach from everything I've seen and heard from him.

Well, his team isn't much better. Whether Pittsburgh wins this game or not, they're right where they deserve to be...Out of the playoffs!

The more I watch Roethlisberger, the more I'm convinced that more than 50% of the sacks the guy takes are his fault. He simply doesn't grasp the concept of getting rid of the damn ball!

Well, looks like he might win one of these games here... hard to believe they aren't gonna punch it in at this point. The passing numbers for this game are ridiculous on both sides, damn.

Yes, but the difference is that the Patriots actually won 11 games and are the only team in the NFL since they expanded the playoff format not to make the playoffs with 11 wins.

I can't think of an active QB I'd rather have on a final drive than Big Ben. That dude makes throws that are sick. 3 passes on the final drive had to be precise; the 4th down where Barnett had great coverage on Holmes, the out play to Heath Miller and the game's final play. There was no room for error on any of those. That dude is the man. Great game.

HOLY SHIT! The STEELERS won a game in the last seconds???

If only they could have done that in 4 or 5 other games...

Still John...I agree...over all they are a mediocre team...the GREAT teams don't let those close games get away...

I'd still rather have Peyton. But, no doubt, Worthlessberger is one of the best in the biz w/ the 2 minute drill

I don't care if the Patriots are 16-0 again...I still wouldn't think they belonged in the playoffs... ;)

As for being Mathematically alive, well...a few of the games helped them today move toward to top of the pack...provided they manage to win out they probably will get in...

And then promptly get whipped....but still...

About time we find some magic! Ben had an absolute thriller day and the offense really exploded in an awesome game from the start. I don't get the onside kick. I about unleashed hell on everyone around me. One of the worse calls in Steelers history. However, if Ike plays the damn ball properly we still could have came with it. I was waiting all season for Ben to have the right opportunity in a game where we we clicking to have a nice comeback to win it. Very 2008 Steelers like. Too bad the defense still can't make plays and should have had another 4th QRT BLOWJOB if it wasn't for Big fuckin Ben and Mike rookie sensation Wallace. Clutch catch, clutch throw, just like '43. We remain alive!

Miami and the Jets losing was GREAT today, but we needed Balty to lose also even more, but the kicker right now is Denver losing, so believe it or not, Pitt wins out we could be playing for a spot in Miami! Believe!!!!

They happen to be 3-2 since benching JaWalrus. If Gradkowski had started the season I think the Raiders would be 7-7 maybe even 8-6 at this point.
