Finish my entire quote and tell me I am wrong. You can't. My advice to you Cubicle Ben, is to go back to work, because you just got throttled.

LOL, didn't your hero Neal Schon say on BTM and I quote, "Steve brought all the success to the band?" Owned

That ought to sell at least 20 copies in California alone! What a waste of fucking dollars this is going to be. Is Vincy going to launch a major tour across America playing High school parking lots? Come on Now RedJoan, be serious.

He would outsell Punxatawney Steve, guaranteed.

Who do you work for and do they have drug testing? You have officially became the stupidest son of a bitch in America. Vince Neil outsell Steve Perry? Dude, I am laughing so hard, my asshole feels like it's going to burst. This is funnier than when you once told me Journey would outsell Springsteen. Remember that gem?

Look, Mini Lee.
Neither would sell a ton because both would be outside the bands that made them famous. perry, I guess, has slightly more relevance as a solo artist, actually having 2 solo hits. But that minor edge is cancelled out by the fact that Vince has never stopped working be it w/ Motley or solo so he has more recognition and as such would sell more.
But you loons and heads act like nosehead, as a solo artist, is Elvis and that's just not the case.
It's a moot debate anyway because even IF he was going to come out with an album it was with the condition that he'd only go through with it if he thought he could crush Revelation's sales and that is an impossibility. Once Revelation got to the 100,000 units sold point, the off chance of a new nostrilface album circled the drain.
The Bruce thing, I guess you just made up no point even addressing it.

Dude, enough of the Revelation fuzzy math sales already. That thing sold what, 500,000 units maybe, and that was mainly because of the Pineda sob story, the Pinoy nation, and the cracker jack box price of 8 bucks for three discs. If Perry puts out a record, no doubt he will get on radio, as his voice is accustomed to radio. He will outsell Revelations easily. It's not a question of whether he will outsell Journey, because he most certainly will, but a question if he will turn something out or not.

Fuzzy math schmuzzy math.
500k, 800k (which the last official count said it was over), it doesn't matter the point is once it got to triple digits the "next" perry solo album went the way of Against The Wall, this time because of his unwillingness to be crushed at the cash registers by the band. I cannot believe you're benighted enough to think he will top Rev's possible 1 million units when For The Need To Supplement Singing With Breathing Noises And Diaphragmnal Utterings stalled at Gold back when Albums actually SOLD.

I put the over/under at the next perry album, which won't come, at 85k.

Seems your repertoire is always filled with Steve Perry bashing. Shouldn't you direct your attention to Journey?

Unless figures aren't updated yet, seems like Revelation is still at quasi-platinum so maybe they were closer to that 500k than 800K when the "Oprah effect" kicked in so it seems Jon Cain's allusion to double-platinum a long... time back was a bit premature?

"Variety suggests Oprah saved Journey, too. A year after the band’s Revelation was released, they appeared on Winfrey’s October 5th episode. The next week, sales of Revelation jumped 681 percent" (11/09)

You would think that kinda jump that seems to have landed them back on the charts would have put them at true or double platinum like Jon Cain said they were a long... time ago.

Anyway, that number 1 DVD seems to be MIA and did you see top tours '09? Is Revelation music burning up the airwaves? But wait, think there is more youtube story to tell.

Steve Perry is RETIRED so perhaps Journey is the one to be concerned about new Cd topping Revelation, huh?

P. S. I really like FTLOSM

I believe Cain about the double platinum thing. What I don't believe is that he gave that "interview" you posted where he said the whole band knew and understood perfectly well why "stephen" mothballed the band in 87 and were fine with it.

You hollow headed jello brain, listen up... you believe Cain?  Stop right there. Since whenever has that asshole ever spoke the truth about anything? That guy would tell you it's bright and sunny out when there is a monsoon pounding down. He can't speak in truth tales. "Stephen" did what he had to do. He was the only one with balls in that band to face the tyrannical obese ridden slob Herbie and his plate full of double cheeseburgers when he was "toast." Hell, he was the reason for all the success they had. Get over your fawndom of Journey nation, it's making you look foolish.

And once again, 800K in sales is still not platinum, although you fools would like to believe that. Sell a million and then we'll talk. My God, Cain speaks about double platinum? He is a douche.

Absolutely. He's said it several times, so I'm sure they've sold easily a million by now, and that was b/f Oprah he had been saying it.

So the mindblowing theory is that SP would make his album release decision based on Journey's RIAA figures? Jesus. Steve Perry doesn't give a flying shit about how much Journey sells these days.
Oh and you can remove the period between The Man and The Voice. It's useless. :P

I think it's true also. When does RIAA update?

The RIAA updates every week. People don't pay for the audit just to have the RIAA sit on the certification. Cain may have said what he said based off of Soundscan #s. The RIAA program doesn't go off of those. If the RIAA had gotten the green light from the audit team back when Cain said what he did, the certification would have happened no late than December because of the 30 day time limit on pending certifications. Journey might just be waiting a little longer to make sure the numbers are true when the RIAA finally does do the audit.

Here's a quick summary of what is done.

The Process

The certification process begins with an independent sales audit of each title by Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman, a highly respected accounting firm that has been auditing title sales for the RIAA® for more than 20 years.

The audit calculates what product has been shipped for sale, net after returns, versus product used for promotional purposes, for the life of the release. When certifying audio and music video releases, the independent auditor is careful to survey the entire music marketplace. An artist's Gold® or Platinum® award represents sales through retail, record clubs, rackjobbers, and all other ancillary markets that legitimately distribute music. Once a title’s sales has been audited and verified as having reached requisite levels, a formal certification report is issued and sent to the title's record company.

We are often asked why we don’t just use sales figures from SoundScan. SoundScan measures over-the-counter sales at music retail locations, while the RIAA®'s certification levels are based on unit shipments (minus returns) from manufacturers to a wide range of accounts, including non-retail record clubs, mail order houses, specialty stores, units shipped for Internet fulfillment or direct marketing sales, such as TV-advertised albums.

A 30-day time limit is set for pending certifications. If a full audit cannot be completed within this time, a charge of $100 will be rendered to member companies and $200 to non-member companies.

Hang Cool, Teddy Bear is the upcoming eleventh studio album by Meat Loaf. It is scheduled to be released on 19 April 2010.

Currently this will be only the fourth album by Meat Loaf not involving Jim Steinman in its production. Guests on the album include Brian May, Steve Vai, Pearl Aday, Patti Russo, Hugh Laurie, amongst others.

getting this slightly back on topic.... I'll stick with the ones that at least are fairly solid for a 2010 release date.

Jimmy Barnes - God or Money (tentative title) - Already recorded with release in June supposedly. Guy's been quite prolific in the last few years, but this is the first rock album he's done in a LONG time. There's a very poor youtube clip of him performing one of the new songs live and it's pretty good--and certainly rocking. Barnes can be hit or miss, but the last album was very good, and it appears he's finally kicked the drugs/alcohol thing. I'm optimistic.

Cold Chisel - New Album. Barnes and co. are threatening another album to be written/recorded later this year. Knowing the way that band goes, I'll believe it when I see it, but they are together for the moment. That said, Chisel has NEVER made a bad album, Don Walker is one of the best living songwriters, and the chemistry in that band is pretty special. The fact that they thought about a US show this spring (that won't happen) is mind-blowing. It would be nice to get one more album from them.

Terry Brock. Been almost 10 years since his last solo album--which was pretty darn good. Not sure why it's taken this long to get #2 out, but there's a song on his myspace site that sounds like a natural follow-up from the last one.

Strangeways. OK, so they are reuniting with Terry Brock. Who saw that one coming?!?!? Be interesting to see what the album sounds like after 20+ years.

new Kevin Chalfant Two Fires album. Andrew alluded to this one. 1st one had the production. 2nd one had the songs. Be nice if the 3rd one can combine the two.

new Bob Catley solo album. Magnum album last year was very good, so it's time for another solo album for one of the best singers in the UK. I think Gary Hughes was writing for him again, so this could be interesting.

new John Farnham cd. He was threatening a new cd last year to coincide with the comeback tour that never happened. Maybe this year?!? Would like to get a studio cut of his version of Coldplay's Lost that he threw into the live shows if nothing else--quite a decent song if you get a good singer on it.

I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting.

legendary hard rock band in Australia. Oversaturated Oz, and then self-destructed before they could break out worldwide. Then, they sold more disbanded then while they were active. They reunite every few years, but usually self-destruct again before they can record anything---don't think they get along any better now more than back in the day. Either way, VERY good hard rock band, and probably one of the best live acts ever. Just because it wasn't big in the US doesn't mean it wasn't good--or popular.

Considering lead singer Jimmy Barnes after going solo got a huge hit from Little Steven Van Zant's Ride the Night Away in the mid 80s, I would have thought you would have heard about him given your fawning over everything Springsteen. Both Barnes and Chisel have had their share of #1 albums.

I listened actually. No all bad.

Now, just because Silvio wrote a song/hit for COLD CHISEL doesn't make them great. Van Zandt isn't the best songwriter ever..he writes stuff for Bruce and it gets rejected all he time. :) I don't ever think Silvio had a writing credit on an ESB album. Anyway, point to you for knowing your stuff. Now tough guy, explain why we should wait with baited breath for a new Strangeways disc? Who he fuck are Strangeways? If they are as bad as Dokken or Krokus, I'll pass.

Cold Chisel - New Album.

Can' wait for this one.

Who the fuck is Cold Chisel? Good God. The shit some of you listen to is bewildering.

legendary hard rock band in Australia.

You should take a listen, but I know that won't happen

I listened actually. No all bad.

Now, just because Silvio wrote a song/hit for COLD CHISEL doesn't make them great. Van Zandt isn't the best songwriter ever..he writes stuff for Bruce and it gets rejected all he time. :) I don't ever think Silvio had a writing credit on an ESB album. Anyway, point to you for knowing your stuff. Now tough guy, explain why we should wait with baited breath for a new Strangeways disc? Who he fuck are Strangeways? If they are as bad as Dokken or Krokus, I'll pass.

Duuuuuuuuuuuuude!!! Dokken I can understand,,, but your faves Krokus??? Whatd they do to piss you off? Put a lock on their tour bus fridge?

Dude, no way does Krokus have a tour bus. They probably have a couple Country Squire station wagons they tool around in.

lol, there's definitely some cheesy ass fuckin names in this genre, that's for damn sure. "Krokus," lol. Sounds like a cross between a cricket and a huge Mexican food-induced diarrhea attack

Just these band names are hilarious. Cold Chisel...what was "Hot Knife" already taken? Was "Tablespoon" snatched up? "Claw Hammer" already used? Come on already.
