Would you be in favor of just letting Boise State in a title game just to see if they can stay with a major conference team? Then depending on the outcome - the discussion can be laid to rest?
Yes, this year I would. Why? Because after today's Alabama loss, we have what, four teams undefeated...Oregon, Ohio State, BSU and TCU. Throw out TCU because they play high school teams. Next, I would really consider an BSU V Oregon NC game. Ohio State plays cupcakes every year. Oregon plays good tough OOC teams, as did BSU(Oregon State). Ohio State is getting fat on Troy States and Bowling Green, along with a so so conference. Sure they play Iowa(who lost to a PAC 10 team at home), Michigan State and Whisky. Penn State is exposed as is Michigan. Purdue, Indiana and Minnesota are embarrassing.
If Boise State is unbeaten they should play for title...
Ordinarily I would say no, but this year I agree, especially if it comes down to undefeated OSU, Oregon and BSU. Ohio State is the third best team in that conversation. I think a track meet between Oregon and BSU would be a treat. Let Ohio State slug it out with Stanford in the Rose Bowl.
Also...if BSU is never going to be allowed to play in the Big Show...don't rank them in the BCS standings....cause its a slap in the face to rank them, and then not let them dance.
That is a real good point S2M. Food for thought. Too bad BSU's academics aren't better, or they could have joined the PAC 10, where they would be considered a threat every year.
