I was watching online, and with the crappy resolution, I didn't even see the safety closing on him. I thought he had an easy stroll into the endzone. I went from being pissed as hell to jumping off the couch celebrating!!!

Also saw the last second failed comeback by Houston.Softens the blow of losing to a very good Pittsburgh team for the Titans. Both Houston and Tennessee are 3-2 and tied for division lead in the AFC South.

Now Tennessee has a bye week while Houston gets to visit Baltimore. The week after the Titans will then face the Texans Oct. 23 with the division lead at stake.

Congrats on that Pittsburgh win and they let the whole league know today that they may be hurting with injuries but that is a very strong team with a never say die attitude. The Steelers and Ravens battle for the AFC North will go to the very last week most likely.

AR i'll be rooting for the Ravens to take care of the Texans in Baltimore next weekend. The Ravens beating the Texans will give Tennessee a lead in the division race there in the south.Rough the Texans up really good because the week after that the Titans will face the Texans on the 23rd of October.I get the feeling that game on the 23rd will be the return of Andre Johnson.

I went to the Ravens Titans playoff game In 2009. Great fans there. Met Steve McNair before he died.

McNair took a lot of heat for showing up at a Ravens pep rally, but it was all for his charity he kept in Baltimore. He was neutral about the game and loved Nashville.

I'm glad they won for Al. I work with Mike Huff Sr. His boy did good today.

They are such fools. Sanchez reminds me EXACTLY like Pennington. Noodle arm. Lacks everything there is to have by a QB IMHO. He hangs in there but his accruacy is beyond terrible. Fools for trying to become a passing team when it's the running game that got you to two straight AFC TITLE games!

I still think the path to long-term success in the NFL lies in pounding the running game. I just don't buy this "passer's league" mantra that's constantly bandied about.

Interesting argument. I think if you were to stop and analyze the last 10 Super Bowl Champions, you won't too many running teams in the group, so your theory doesn't really hold up in today's NFL. Just off the top of my head...the Patriots three times, the Colts, Green Bay, and Saints. That's 6 out of 10 right there who threw a whole lot more than they ran. Even if you look at the Steelers, their running game isn't that great and even they throw to win a whole lot more than they run.

Question for Raiders fans/experts...Didn't Tim Brown wear number 81? I saw parts of the Raiders game today and saw some guy wearing that number. It seems really odd to me that the Raiders wouldn't retire Brown's number. Dude was a great player for a whole lot of years in that organization.

Yeah, Chaz Shillens wears it.

The Raiders do not have one single number retired. I think Davis wanted the numbers and the history to stay on the field.

The Texans will be without receiver Andre Johnson for a while, with a hamstring injury suffered last week. They could be without linebacker Mario Williams even longer.

Peter King of Sports Illustrated reported during NBC’s Football Night in America that Williams may have a torn pectoral muscle.

Williams, who escaped serious injury a couple of weeks ago, will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury.

The only good news for the Texans is that every other team in the division lost today. Without Johnson and Williams, however, it could be a challenge for the Texans to hold off the Titans.

Thanks RWF. I knew that you would have an answer for me. I wasn't aware that Davis had a policy against retiring numbers. Seems odd to me, but if that was the organization's policy, so be it.

The Steelers issue this same policy as well. They refuse or want to deal with retiring any numbers, just the way the Rooney's usually established their organization but there is kind of an "un-written rule" to certain numbers like #12, #32, #58, #59, #75 and recently, #36. Other than those, numbers are still issued like # 82 (Wesley Saunders, Antwaan Randle El, Bobby Shaw, etc) and #88 (Andrea Hastings and now Emmanuel Sanders, etc.)

Gotta love the thugs in Philly falling to 1-4. If it weren't for the overrated Giants laying an egg, they would be out of the NFC East chase already.

Two teams i picked to go to the NFC championship are Philly 1-4 and Atlanta 2-3.But that just shows how quickly things change year to year in this league. However the last two Super Bowl champions Green Bay 5-0 and New Orleans 4-1 show no signs of slowing down.Meanwhile who would've thought Buffalo would be 4-1 but Indy would be 0-5.Its one of the things that make it so fun to watch year to year because anyone can jump out.Certainly didn't see San Francisco being 4-1 at this point and they just beat Tampa Bay 48-3 and ironically with the same quarterback they've been using the past four or five losing seasons in Alex Smith. The coaching change there definitely had a lot to do with niners fortunes changing.

The Patriots' schedule doesn't get any easier. New England's next four games are against the Dallas Cowboys (2-2), at the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2), vs. New York Giants (3-2) and a rematch at the New York Jets (2-3). The second half of the season gets much lighter. But New England has to keep winning now to stay in the race for the AFC East title and home-field advantage.

Did you see Green Bays? They should be 10-0 before any threat steps in their way. Pittsburgh will prob lose to New England and HOPEFULLY split Baltimore. Then they got one of THEE easiest second half schedules out there, which should, in theory, lead to a 12-4 record at worst.

The Patriots never have an easy schedule. I think the Dallas matchup is a very bad one for New England's awful defense. I suspect they may lose to Dallas and beat Pittsburgh.

Even when he was a hated Bronco. I love watching Cutler throw the football. Too bad he hasn't been on a decent team.

The Lions sure looked good tonight. I retract my earlier post. They are definitely for real this year. I still don't see them maintaining this to make the playoffs, but stranger things have happened. The two Lions-Packers games look to be GREAT match-ups now.
