So you post on here and participate in a music forum where in the same breath you're TELLING Andrew you think he should let this place go and that you won't support it and help him to make a profit and keep afloat? :? I'm confused. So you don't care if these music forums are around anymore?

I didn't TELL him to do anything I simply gave my opinion as everyone does. Some are of the opinion that another Fest was a good decision, I simply disagree and don't see it really giving him a long term benefit. I hope it does though and wish him success. Just because I don't support the idea doesn't mean I feel anyone else should not or don't hope it works out to his benefit. In my opinion I do feel he has suggested there are other things he wants to do beside's this site so maybe he should continue to persue what he really wants to do regardless if y'all want this playground or not. If y'all care so much about Andrew you wouldn't think about what you want and would want him to follow his dreams too. .....thats all I meant. If this is really what he wants to continue to do and rely on then thats fine too. As I said, I wish him well.

Sometimes to follow your dreams you need money. Writing doesn't bring in the paycheck he may need to feed his family. Think about it. He can write as a side hobby and hope to make money, but he needs a sure deal and steady income too. Why am I even TRYING to explain this. Nevermind. Your opinion will not change how most feel, and that is grateful and thankful for the site, the friends and Andrew for all he does to keep this going.

Phylly
Even if you were right in regards to MRF II, I dont think right now its the time to tell him " I told you so ",,,
None of us thinks that YOUR opinion and lack of common sense will change our minds in regards to supporting Drew. Plus I dont think Andrew is gonna listen to you in regards to what you THINK he should do or not,,,,
BUT when you come here and brag about not supporting this site & Andrew, youre damn right we will hand your skanky ass to you and hoping you will show us some of your skills from your new-found sport and DASH the FUCK out of here !

The only way Andrew's event would be the epic failure that you predict it to be, would be if everyone adopted your thinking and didn't donate as Linda politely suggested. Think about that. And as for your request to post here? REQUEST DENIED!

Well thank god. Been waiting weeks for that post.

Hey, guys, you can all book your airfare now, we got Phil's permission.

Sorry, just a little sarcastic humor there, because I have as much right as everyone else around here to make jokes.

My bad too, as I guess I should ask y'all's permission before I post and maybe even get a few to editorialize what I write before I post it to see if it's going to raise any hackles and bare anyone's claws.

That would be rather helpful, yes. :D Thanks for being a team player. Please direct all of your posting permission requests to Behshad and Dean. Hopefully they will see that your words make it to the board in a timely manner. And by timely manner, I mean never. Good day, sir. 8)

If anyone here would be a sir it would be you as you talk exactly like a man. Well, I shouldn't say all men as all men aren't as fowl mouthed as you can be. Good day to you too! 8)

Noted. And ask me if I care. Ask all of the very good friends of mine here if they care. They don't. Now... what was that lie you told earlier about you never coming here and starting up with people and calling names... but since you think I have such a terrible foul mouth, then it won't matter if I join in with Behshad and tell you to screw off.

And if you're going to insult people, at least spell it correctly. I know books weren't invented yet when you went to school, but we have them NOW. Jeesh.

Sometimes following ones dream's is a struggle and at time's a hardship and sacrifices have to be made. Guess it depends on how much someone wants something and what they are willing to sacrifice for it. If the drive to do something is strong enough they will do whatever it takes to try to succeed. Many people have started the path to their dreams with little to nothing to begin with as well as care for their responsibilities. For one example here....Jeremey probably could be making a more stable living if he had stayed in a comfort zone in the business world but he chose to go with his passion and sing full time instead. Is it risky? Sure, but there are risks in everything, even in what is perceived as less risky. I also think that If JSS was more about money rather than following his heart he probably would have made different choices along the way and would be more well known in the states, maybe. Perry could have kept plugging along instead of "retiring" and kept more in the spotlight but he opted out. It's all about choices and what someone is willing to do and what they are willing to do without to make them.

I haven't called you a name at all but you choose to twist things to make an excuse to do so. Manners weren't taught way back when you were in school? I started with no one, simply stated my opinion on the topic and y'all came in to pile on as usual. Is this attack game you play on the net your only activity? since you are on here 24/7 I tend to think so. Go outside once in awhile and get some fresh air, it will do wonders for you and maybe even improve your attitude. I really do have to go now so do have a good afternoon and try not to target anyone else and play nicer with others. 8)

Are you KIDDING me? Risk is something you can take when you are single or have no children. I think Andrew is doing a great job being a support to his family from what I can see and he should do whatever he can with his "day job" to support his possible night job dreams. Which is something lots of musicians do. Does that make the ones with the day jobs lesser musicians? No. It means they need the means to follow their dreams. It really is no ones business not even mine, and definitely not yours how Andrew decides to live his life and support his family. YOU are the one who suggested we don't care about him if we aren't encouraging his dreams the way YOU are. What a crock!

Jeremey and others who have families have sometimes went for their dreams so I guess you consider that irresponsible then. I disagree that people who have done so with families have been irresponsible in that choice. Sure if someone fails to realize what they set out for some may consider it a failure and a bad desicion with hindsight but there have been many accomplishments by people throughout history who didn't let naysayers stand in their way.

At least you actually turned this to a discussion instead of only childish namecalling. It's actually an interesting discussion we've began but I do have to go so others can take up this debate if they wish. Have a good one. 8)

*By the way, it seems depending on this site and these Fests is pretty risky as well and was probably once a dream. Have to say, just as the first Fest proved to be this one, even if successful and generates some profit, will be just a bandage and not a long term solution so hopefully Andrew will keep other options in mind and work at them as an insurance policy for the future.

No, don't put words in my mouth. I never said Jeremey was irresponsible. Actually, if you know Jeremey's history he had a day job for YEARS before he took that risk. And I don't know Jeremey's situation. I don't know what financial shape he was in when he took that leap and what shape Andrew is in, nor do I care since it's NONE of my business. I think everyone makes choices and they do the best they can with the means they have to support thier families and only they can know what risks are worth it. And you are talking about Andrew and writing which is about as difficult if not more so for making a career and earning money to pay those monthly bills. I bet many writers do other things besides their passion.

I really think if we care about Andrew we will encourage him and do the best we can to help him with his ventures on something that is important to him, especially when it's something we will all enjoy. If he believes in MRfest, then so do I 8)

I love that the one who started it is accusing you of baiting. I'm thinking the baiting post was post # 2, telling Andrew to give up and move on after Linda tried to start up something nice.

Oh no, she certainly has a right to her opinion, "same as others", as she's told us eleven thousand times.

What she doesn't have is the tact or decorum to refrain from phrasing that particular opinion the way she did, telling Drew to give it up and move on to something else. But I do think she's right about having the right to an opinion, even if it's a badly-worded and wildly unpopular one.

Bait??
Are you fucking kidding me !?? All we ask for is simply to either support this site or GO THE FUCK AWAY !

You used fowl words, B. Image Not nice.

I love that the one who started it is accusing you of baiting. I'm thinking the baiting post was post # 2, telling Andrew to give up and move on after Linda tried to start up something nice.

That about sums it up....and well someone should have just kept their opinions to themselves.

Yep, some should. Y'all's complete lack of taking responsibility for your actions is amazing.
Funny how it always takes a group of you to "discuss" a topic with me.

You really do live on a planet of your own, don't you?

Reality check: It doesn't take a "group" to discuss a topic with you.
It only looks that way to you because you have this flair for ticking everyone off all at once.

Yes, but to complain when said group of people disagree strongly with the badly worded said opinion gets OLD!

Good Lord... 3 pages deep and you still haven't realized that this thread has nothing to do with you? Can you have a little respect, please, or at least find another thread to fight in?

Jeesh.

LOL, I think I'm in a purple haze and I've been there before. Seriously Phyl, do you just pull up and copy/paste these posts to who ever disagrees with you at the time???
