That's what happens to him, one of his only problems, really. Phenomenal goaltender, but once his cage is rattled with 2 goals, maybe not until the 3rd even, he falls apart. We saw Chicago do it to him 3 years in a row in the playoffs, and this year, the first few games were just downright embarrassing for CHI. Then they got in there and hammered the shit out of him and he went to pieces. But I think they can still pull this out. 3 games, time will tell.

Why should he apologize? He called the Bruins pussies for not sticking up for themselves. Dude has a right to an opinion, just like you do. I've listened to the guy for a long time, and I can tell you he is as hardcore of a hockey fan as you'll ever listen to, so it's not like he doesn't know what he's talking about. You make it sound like retaliation in hockey is unheard of. That's kind of the way hockey has been for most of its existence.

The Bruins are the inferior team in the series, talent wise. Because of that, you need a flag to fly and the Bruins found it. Retaliating may have detached the "pussy" stigma, but it would have also seen Vancouver skating with The Cup in 5 games. The Bruins did what all well run, professional organizations do. They rallied around it and are feeding off of it. And that's what wins championships, not retaliating.
There's a big difference between protecting your players and retaliating, and the Bruins seem to know the difference. Much tougher, much more physical play and exactly what Tim Thomas did late in last night's game is how you "stick up for yourselves" and protect your players. Losing your cool and giving Vancouver senseless power plays is how you watch the other team skate around the ice with Lord Stanley's Cup. Which is why I'll reiterate, once again, that the dickhead from Sirius had no clue what he was talking about ... at all!

You're really getting caught up in semantics, SJ. We agree that the Bruins are the inferior team talent-wise (except at goaltender, where it isn't close)! The Bruins didn't tie this series up because of talent. They tied it up because they're a much tougher team. Much of what the Bruins have done has been a retaliation of sorts. They haven't taken a lot of stupid penalties (not that it would even matter, given how awful Vancouver's "vaunted" PP has been). They have definitely been pushing guys around. Marchand was all over the Sedin Sisters last night, and you saw what Thomas did to that douche Burrows after Burrows whacked the stick out of his hands. Dean calls it cheap. I say the guy got exactly what he had coming to him. The truth of the matter is that Horton getting laid out was probably the best thing that happened to this Bruins team, because up until that point, they hadn't seemed to be woken up. That woke them up in a big way, because since that point, they have been throwing their weight around and scoring at will. The bottom line now is that it's a best out of 3 series and Vancouver still has the upper hand with 2 of those 3 games on their home ice. I think no matter which team wins this series, Thomas is the runaway MVP of this series and wins his second Vezina in a runaway vote. Dude has been absolutely IMMENSE!

Absolutely agree. You, Dean and I have been privy to seeing this shit before, because of the 3 straight years you referred to. And I think that's why Dean is a little rattled right now, too. The guy (Luongo) has a really long memory, and goaltenders, like relief pitchers in baseball, need very short memories. That's what really surprised me about their coach leaving him in to give up 8 goals ... 8!!! Just for that, I think Andrew should give him Dickhead Of The Year!

I really like Luongo but he should have been pulled in game three and before he was in game four.
The nicest thing I have to say about Tim Thomas is that he has a nice playoff beard.
