Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple fame is coming here with his band tomorrow. I can get 2 tickets for $20. I'm not worried about the price, more about wasting my time. has anyone seen them that can tell me if it's worth going or not? I like Deep Purple, but I don't own the discography by any means. I know about three songs by Rainbow. Blackmore is certainly a hell of a guitarist though. Should I go?

That depends on how fond you are of folk and renaissance music. Deep Purple it ain't! More Loreena McKennit feel. Folk-rock, I guess, for want of a better word.
Couple of songs you can check out to see if it's to your taste:

Really? We're all wearing that stuff over here. America's always about 12 months behind in fashion.

As great as Blackmoore is on the guitar, I was somewhat surprised that this project wasnt THAT good. As Ari said , if youre into folk music, youre in for a treat,,,if not, youre in for a nice long nap ! :)

I don't like everything BM has done, but Ghost Of A Rose and The Village Lanterne are pretty cool CDs. They do a nice cover of Rainbow's "Street Of Dreams" on TVL.
