Sure he's gotten repetitive at times over the years and he's a huge d-bag, but in terms of starting a whole new way of playing guitar, he's up there with fuckin Hendrix and EVH.

he is an overall great guitar god with great vibrato and amazing skills whether he plays fast or slow. The guy needs to be credited for all that is known as neoclassical.
EVH invented tapping. Something that sooner or later wouldve been invented anyways. It's like Columbus getting credits for finding America. As if we wouldn't have found it without him,,, specially these days with GoogleEarth and GPS
