Bears' Defensive End Gaines Adams has died of cardiac arrest. Such a sad story for a 26 year old guy. Hopefully drugs won't be the underlying cause.

The news def bummed me out today. This is tragic news, especially for all the Bears fans out there. Adams was most likely going to start next season...the kid had a lot of talent. RIP Gaines Adams!

Anytime a young life is lost is a tragedy. Kids should be burying their parents, not the other way around. :cry:

This is incredibly sad and it does happen too much!!!
It seems as though the team docs should be aware
of the possiblity of this happening to an athlete...they usually
have high blood pressure, dizziness, shortness of breath, etc.
There are definite symptoms!!!

I'm hearing that it's prevalent amongst African Americans!!
This really makes my heart hurt!! :cry:

Steroids increase the size of the heart, but i would be shocked if a football player would take those :shock:
