Just now finishing listening to White Lion's "Return of the Pride" from 2008...

It sucks. Might as well have called it a totally different band. Tramp's voice blows now (not that it was ever fantastic, mind you) and the song quality besides that is total crap.

Saw them open for Aerosmith years ago and as pretty as Mike Tramp is to look at, his vocals have never done a thing for me. So, thanks Dave, I guess I'll pass too.

The others in that list I could gives a shit about, but Winger and Pride of Lions are great.

Their "Pride" album is one of my favorites of all times and the other 3 of their first 4 albums are all good as well. Not only that but Vito Bratta kicked more ass than most of the other 80s guitarists combined.

Vito Bratta was, hands down, one of the best guitarists of the 80s. While Tramp gives the band reduced/negative credibility, Bratta was the real deal.
regardless, knocking the band because it came out during the hair era, is rather short sighted.

Pride of Lions have ONE decent song, Sound of Home, the rest - very forgettable.

I saw Tramp's WL when they toured the states in 2005. Not that bad. I will say, though, I was not a fan of how they changed a few versions around. Tramp was a cool guy and said Vito never leaves his house. So, I doubt there will ever be an original reunion, which is always sad when all the members are still alive.

Winger kicks ass, and if they never had all that hair and looked better than most of the chicks they shagged in the early days, more people would have gotten into them. Same goes for a ton of those "era" bands.

Jimi Jamison recorded a version and posted it on his myspace page for a short time---it sounded a bit different, but better, IMO.

There are some decent songs here and there, and a few here and there (Love's Eternal Flame, Faithful Heart, etc) were pure Survivor....but there was a highly-theatrical edge for many songs that I never cared for. Peterik can write some very good songs, and some very average ones. Much of POL was the 2nd category.
