You know, people can hate these guys all they want but at least they're out there trying to be relevant and keeping their fans involved.

Since Bon Jovi doesn't have any Pinheads to lobby for them, Jon has to do all the grunt work himself.

The bon jovi challange should be them actually putting out good cd for a change , these guys havent been relevant since the jersey album. They've been on a steady decline since that time

As long as you keep selling out stadiums, you don't have to put out a good album. Just ask U2.

I wonder if the Stones need extra handicap/elderly parking areas designated for the venues that they play?

I just saw them Saturday in Tampa. A completely sold out big hockey arena, every seat around the entire arena sold. No big act to co-headline with, and they sold out. And guess what! They played lots of their newer music and people KNEW it and were singing along! Like it or not, they found a way to stay relevant.

And I will add... that is roughly 22,000 seats sold, with no co-headliner

There's only 6 rock genre bands left in the world, that can do what you just described. Can you name them?

And to that end, they've also been running contests for the fans to vote to choose their opening act in each city.

7th Heaven was in contention for the Chicago show at Soldier Field.... I don't know what's going on with that, or if their still a possibility.... the thing is, the voting process is really involved. You can't just go on and click a band name - they actually force you to listen to the songs (you can't click on anything until 15 seconds of the track plays) and rank the bands (4 at a time), so if you want to just "vote for your friend", you have to keep listening and ranking until said band comes up in the rotation. It's actually kind of sort of... fair, in a weird way. On one hand it's good - keeps the popularity contest aspect to a minimum... but I tried doing it, and I just didn't have the time or the patience to keep listening, waiting, ranking, etc.

Just saw them in Dallas, a local band opened!!
I'm sure the locals know them ...they were good!! +1 to everything stated ^^^^^
The venue sold out for April 10th, they added April 11th ...two sold out crowds!!
I remember when Journey used to do this stuff, they'd hang in Michigan for 3, 4, 5
shows at a time, selling out each one ...those were the days!!

Yeah we know, complete garbage. Overrated. Stick to those bands where no more than 50 people know who they are dude. Keep spinning that shit you call music, like fuckin Trixter.

We agree on 4 out of the 6. Try again. To me at least, 2 of your choices can't sell out hockey sheds w/o opening help.

Oh fuck no you didn't just say that.

Come on, think MG...two bands you are forgetting, or more pointedly, one band, and one solo entity.

Police are no longer...nope.

EJ needs BJ to sellout arenas.

Hint: one is a band not too liked here at MR, and the other guy is a legend.

That rules out AC-DC, though I think they can still fill an arena by themselves.

Ok, I will concede that ACDC can fill an arena by themselves...but not who I am looking for.

hint: not really "rock" but a jazzy/reggae type fusion band.
