It's a law against distributing pamphlets, ffs!
You're obviously an idiot. Thanks!
You obviously ignore any part of an argument that might make you think.
It's a deliberately provocative beat-up trying to create an illusion of something that isn't there. If you're going to scream that this is Sharia law opperating in Michigan, you might want to consider that outlawing murder, theft and the use of illicit drugs is also applying Sharia law. Preventing people handing out pamphlets, especially when they are deliberately and obviously doing so to cause a scene, is hardly the law enforcement agencies of Michigan suddenly adopting Sharia law over US law. Any idiot can tell that the cops aren't reacting because these people are 'attempting' to convert muslims (which I don't for a moment think is what they actually intend to do), they are reacting to a group of people deliberately targetting another group of people in a provocative manner and trying to cause a scene. And those same cops will be applying laws
already in place to do so.
Here's a little piece I keep remembering from the Bible, one of those verses I keep wondering why people ignore so much: Love your enemy. Actually, it's so good, the Bible says it more than once -
Matthew 5:44 "But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you"
Luke 6:27 "But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you"
Even Romans 12:20 gets in on the theme "But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink" although it does go on to say that by doing so you'll heap coals on his head; I've always assumed that was metaphorical for 'make him feel shitty for his bad behaviour' rather than a more literal meaning.
