Food for Thought Journey Fans

I just found this news:
If Journey plays India(don't laugh, they are making a Hindu album right?), perhaps there is a connection here?
Latest News. I recently said that Bryan Adams was no longer going to tour with full plugged in band. I got that info from BA himself(in an article). However, he seems to have changed his mind.
Bryan & Band tour India in February
Bryan will be taking the full band to India for a string of dates in
Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, New Delhi and Hyderabad starting February 11th. Tickets on sale Tuesday, Nov 16th. See CONCERTS page for dates and venue information.
And this also:
We look to tour the Far East as well as New Zealand and Australia in the near future, as well as a full powered North American leg.
This could be a fantastic pairing, much better than hauling Styx and Foreigner around. I can tell you matter of factly, that BA is much more widely popular over seas than any of these three bands. This could be interesting.
Thoughts?

Would be a g
reat pairing, for
me. I love BA and it would give me a reason to attend.
But if they aren't going to play the
US
A, as a team,
it really has no effect on me!! I will, however, see Mr. Adams ...

This show is the Bare Bones tour, acoustic show with BA only, not the band plugged in.

Yep, was a great show though. I saw them in Dallas. The crowd were there to see Journey, as BA was pretty new on the scene. They weren't responding as much as he would like, so he yelled something like "What the fuck Dallas, let me hear you!!" And the place went nuts. He was climbing all over railings in the arena, it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I wouldn't mind that pairing again.

Adams has been playing solo acoustic dates for the past two years. He has said he had no plans for his band to tour with him(plugged in). He has changed his mind and will take his band on tour to India, Australia, NZ and North America in the next two years. The show in Michigan coming up is just him and his guitar. Got that?

I have ZERO interest in seeing any melodic rock act solo, completely unplugged. Hell, even Shaw/Blades was pushing it. But, Tommy played some electric guitar, so it was palatable. Don't get me wrong, I like acoustic music and I certainly like hearing new takes on old songs, but if I see a concert, I generally need some electric guitar, some drums, some low end etc.
I cannot think of a single melodic rock act that would be good completely unplugged AND solo for an entire show. I much prefer it as a 3 or 4 song change of pace in the middle of a full band show. Now, go to an all-acoustic but full band show (think most Live From Daryl Hall's house episodes), and that's a different story.

We were obviously talking about two different shows here ...you, the upcoming
a man and his geetar in GR, and I, the full powered North American leg
smartass was speaking of in the opening post!!

Ok...I can get on board with this...now...who headlines?
Considering Dean started the thread...I know what HIS answer will be...
Journey based on?
BA based on?
My pick is for the states: Journey, just a plain bigger draw, sorry Dean.
India and such: Co-headline...switch up the close each night...except in the Phillipines for obvious reasons...

This was, from what I understand, talked about or close to happening in 2009. This would be a dynamite pairing. Journey would close in the U.S. and Adams can close in the parts of the world where he's bigger. I hope it happens.

Not being biased at all here, but Adams would close everywhere except America and that dogshit country the Phillipines. Adams is 5 times the draw in Europe and Asia than Journey could ever hope to be, even with Perry.

I could be wrong, but I thought you've mentioned various times that Bryan Adams would never tour with a Perry-less Journey?

Neal told me that in Boston in 2006. Those were Neal's own words. He went on how he liked Keith Scott so much and he also liked BA too...he insisted it was Adams who said no to a Journey billing.
My guess is the only reason Adams would join Journey would be a reason to take his band out on the road with him, rather than tour solo with his acoustic guitar. He can fill theaters by himself...

Thanks Dean
That's what I thought you had said before, but wasn't quite sure. So is this a possibility, or just an idea you wanted to toss around? Honestly I've never seen BA before, but if I did, I'd prefer it to be with his band. Of course he can fill theaters by himself, no surprise there.

Yeah, I saw that tour of the minor league baseball diamonds also. Bryan Adams smoked Leppard so bad, that he went from alternating closing the shows, to opening every date to keep the crowd from emptying out after Leppard finished their set.
