What does "Nolo Contendre" Mean?

If somebody pleads "Nolo Contendre" what exactly does that mean? Is that "guilty but not admitting it?" something like that?

Basically, it's Latin for "I do not wish to contend". It's more commonly known as pleading No Contest.

Mostly it means that you are not contesting the ticket or charge and not pleading guilty or innocent. You are right, you are not admitting to it and not disputing it. But, basically, is the same as pleading guilty. I'm no lawyer, so can't give you the full implications of it. I've seen it used a lot when a plea bargain is on the table.

Okay cool.

So there's some pretty mentally ill fucking people out here. Some whom I thought were my friends, some who haven't let me alone for 4 fucking years. And I got links and documents and shit that would go a long way to proving I'm not the lying, thieving sonofabitch I've been made out to be.

But mostly I'm just fucking tired of this bullshit.

I play music. I play Journey music, and I write some of my own.

If you like that, come to our shows. People have fun there.

If not, big fuckin deal...I used to post here before Frontiers and seemed to get along well with a lot of people.

Now, seeing all the behind the scenes work that goes into some of the shenanigans around here, it's just...wow, it's just bizarre...

So to all good people out there, Merry Christmas. And if you ever think about starting a band...well...LOL....

Far be it for me to get involved in a battle between two former friends/bandmates, nothing
good ever comes out of taking sides when one isn't even aware of the background issues!!
This battle breaks my heart ...but it is between you and Jim!!
That said, I will be in attendance at these shows, whenever possible,
I happen to know that they are fun and better than ...well, let me refrain from starting another war!!

Jeremey, I don't know how old you are, but turning 44 this past May was one of the greatest gifts I've ever received, because having been 44 for almost 7 months now, I've been evolving, changing, growing. It's not a new concept I've only become aware of, but it seems to only now be taking hold. My partner and I have been together for 18 years, we have fringe family members (not immediate) but still related that can't seem to deal with who we are as homosexuals. It was during an argument with one them trying to tell me about "God" and how "God" works and what "God" thinks that I had that shedding of old skin moment and immediately thought to myself, "why the fuck do I care what you think?". It snowballed after that and me telling them if they felt homosexuality was wrong I'd be better off without them in my life. They were ejected then and there and I don't speak to them anymore. I started sleeping better, I don't worry as much and it's all because of growing up and realizing that even family members can be assholes and don't have to have a place in one's life. Now, my point with all this, if family members can be ejected, then obviously friends and especially people on the internet can be erased completely.

You do not have to answer to any motherfucker or defend yourself. I told my partner that he and I are the only ones that mattered and if someone doesn't like that, fuck them and their hatred/ignorace and move on.

Don't let the sons of bitches bring you down. Don't give them that power. It's all about being the best we can personally be and when someone wants to hold you hostage or bring you down with them, it's best to just let them go and forget about them.

I then had a talk with my parents, sisters and brother and told them all the same thing, I love them but if they ever got into that bullshit about "love the sinner hate the sin" or that fucked up religious zombie philosophy, they'd simply have to learn how to deal without me in their lives. It's called unconditional love and if I give it I should receive it. If love isn't unconditional, it simply isn't love. I am VERY lucky that all my family loves me and my partner unconditionally and show it often.

Peace to you and yours Jeremey.

Thanks MG...sadly this goes beyond Jihad Jim's twisted obsession with me to people behind the scenes, people I thought were trustworthy and let into that "circle of trust" that were willing to throw that friendship and trust under the bus for a little online entertainment. Jim was actually never my friend, tho I tried to be friends with him, it was just too exhausting, lol...but there are people in this little MR clan I DID think were friends that are happy to use Jim's obsession for their own amusement.

Sick shit! LOL.

Everybody member on this board has some degree of mental issue. Heck, show me anybody in the world that doesn't suffer from some kind of neurosis. We are all damaged. So just take people with a grain of salt. Unless someone is overtly violent, or nasty to me - I usually just laugh it off.

Most of us have issues....and the sooner you realize this, the better....

I guarantee you I have impeccable taste in music....I am guilty, however, of not falling for the Music Industry's brainwashing. I'm rather open-minded when it comes to music. And the reason why I like the kind of music that I do.

It is easy to like what is thrown in one's face. What is readily available on radio. But I find that lazy and close-minded. There is more to music than Styx, Foreigner, Boston, Journey, Bad co., Toto, Beatles, and Led Zep....and more of an excuse to listen to what you listen to than, 'Because that's what i grew up on'....and before i get the influx of accusations of downing other people's music - save it. I'm not downing the music. I'm downing the close-mindedness.

and that runs rampant here. In spades.

I love ya Rick and I hear what you are saying. But trust me...there's "different," and then there's "damaged." I include in the latter category those who would do harm to others with no concern for consequences...especially for their own amusement or enjoyment. It's tough to see what some people are capable of. For starters look at those people out there that can just harm innocent children. Physically or mentally, bringing harm against a defenseless child. That's sick. That's damaged. Of course we dont come across many of those people in our daily lives, but the Internet is a big place and u never really know WHO you may be dealing with...even if it's someone you've met IRL at some point.

But yeah u are right...the healthcare and pharm industries are a whole nother can of worms, LOL.

Hey, I did good this time around, and stayed the hell out of it. Except for that one time, I'm usually trying to make peace. And with this dustup, I hope you and Jim can some day bury the hatchet and let bygones be bygones, as I like both of you characters. My head was spinning after reading all of that. I realize that with business and any time there are dealings with money, people can get at odds with each other. Which is why I now elect not to get into the Fantasy Football thing at work because they added money to the mix "To make it interesting". I stayed out of that, and two weeks in I hear people saying "I still haven't gotten my $25 out of that fucking Tom". And it's just not worth it. That never happens when they just play for bragging rights. When money's involved, people take it personally.

Good points Rick...funny thing about this money issue tho...this was actually a 5 page thread about whether or not I was a hypocrite for using canned backing vocals in my band, then out of nowhere...zing, oh yeah, it was actually about money all along. Even though I didn't OWE Jim any money, he just didn't like the way things were handled. And four years later, boom, here he is still bellyaching about it on a internet forum.

Ah well...the funny thing about money issues is that no matter who's right or wrong, both parties involved end up looking dirty. I still can't believe that after 4 years this is being brought up in a public forum. Whooda thunk?

I see there being two definitions that I think of...

One is where someone is actually being mean, but acts innocent like they don't really mean it. Like saying on the internet, "You're a dick! :) " Then saying, Hey, didn't you see the smiley? It's clear I was only joking!

The other is where someone will agree with an idea or statement or something to someone's face then turn around behind their back and tell everyone how dumb or ignorant the idea or statement is.

I think that's pretty accurate? Most musicians are notorious for being passive aggressive. Comes with the genes or something? If I'm wrong someone else can chime in.

LOL, no one normally accuses me of being passive aggressive. I figured that's where you were going with this but gave you the benefit of the doubt.

Actually there's nothing at all passive aggressive about this thread. It was very aggressive. And it's meaning was clear to those who needed to understand it.
