Any of you own any of the SHM music CD's?

Do they really sound better than normal CD's?

There won't be a sound difference unless the SHM was remastered differently than the original CD and that could technically make it sound better OR worse.
What a SHM CD offers is better compatibility with more CD players and the disc should last a little longer because of the material it's made from.
Sonically, there isn't going to be any inherent superiority to a regular CD.
I rip my CDs to WAV and put the disc away after that so wearing out/scratching the disc isn't very likely.
In the unlikely event that I do somehow damage my CD later, I can recopy it from my WAV files without any loss of quality to a blank CD which will be MUCH more cost efficient compared to the price of one SHM disc.

Thanks!

A friend of mine owns several albums on SHM discs, and he raves about them sounding way better than the originals. But I've also seen some people on the internet say that there's barely any difference, if any at all.
