"EXPENDABLES II" Trailer

Still a bit of a teaser, and looks like some of the actor clips they are using are from the first "Expendables" or from other films -- the clip of Chris Hemsworth looks like it's from "RAMBO". But it still whets the appetite - especially the clip of Arnie at the end. :)

I watched "The Expendables" just this past week. Had taped it just never got around to watching it until now. I thought it was exactly what I expected. Lot's of action, straight forward storyline and not much more. I will watch the 2nd one when it's on dvd just so I can watch Statham kick someone's teeth in.

I'm with you Rip. Statham is the only one worth watching in this movie. The rest are too old and creaky! LOL

Those old steroidal farts looked pretty damned tough and pumped in E1.

Looking forward to the sequel.

The fact you even used the word 'taped', even if it was DVR'ed or Tivo'ed, indicates you grew up in this era of action movie. So admit it... you loved it!

LOL! DVR'ed, so that's how you spell it. That's how I did it though. Like I said, I watched it all the way, but somewhere I was hoping "Rocky" would pull the old bandana out and say, "Fuck it, I'm going to go Rambo on their ass's."

The car chase and the "that was a statement" sequence in 1 are ALL timers....love Sly's pickup with the quick-shifter. Hope Arnie got some of his tone back in his body for this but either way, good to see bhe'll have an expanded role.

Rambo 4 kicked all sorts of ass, but The Expendables failed to impress, despite it's who's-who cast of faded action heroes. Hoping the sequel is better!

I enjoyed the movie. I wasn't expecting much from Arnold or Bruce but I thought Sly & Jason
were very good. looking forward to the sequel , maybe the expectations were to high for some.

Expendables was a fun watch for me but I was left wanting more. Rambo 4 did rock. Expendables 2 will be fun.

I saw the Expendables. Don't recall not liking it or liking it. Didn't resonate. Average I guess.

I have to agree here. Rambo 4 was violent as all fuck get out and left much more of an impression.

Johnny Rambo, the baddest motherfucker in the history of film. Sorry Clint, your second.

Rambo 4 was a great action movie. I'd like to see him come back for one more, watch him take out the whole middle east with a new weapon that sucks the infidels into the abyss. "Nuke em the dark, and shot em when they glow baby".

An article on the targeted PG-13 rating for EXPENDABLES 2, along with Sly's statement (his words in red):

http://www.mania.com/expendables-2-pg13 ... 31999.html

Expendables 2 is PG-13

Death. Destruction. Okay. Curse words? No. That seems to be the story in regards to The Expendables 2 this week, with reports surfacing that co-star Chuck Norris demanded a limit on profane language as part of the deal to include him in the sequel. In an interview with the Gazeta, Norris said the following:

"In 'Expendables 2', there was a lot of vulgar dialogue in the screenplay. For this reason, many young people wouldn't be able to watch this. But I don't play in movies like this. Due to that, I said I wouldn't be a part of that if the hardcore language is not erased. Producers accepted my conditions and the movie will be classified in the category of PG-13."

Lead star Sylvester Stallone confirmed to AICN shortly after the report that they were indeed aiming for a PG-13 release with the upcoming sequel.

"The PG13 rumor is true," Stallone writes, "but before your readers pass judgement, trust me when I say this film is LARGE in every way and delivers on every level. This movie touches on many emotions which we want to share with the broadest audience possible, BUT, fear not, this Barbeque of Grand scale Ass Bashing will not leave anyone hungry."

Van Halen's "You And Your Blues" would be PERFECT for the soundtrack of this movie. Somebody make it happen.

That would be nice. It's a good movie, but it should've been better. What's the duration of that one?

114 mins. total - 11 more than the theatrical version, and along wirh several other changes, they make it count. You get to know the characters better, and even see some of them in a different light. More Statham and Sly dialogue, and more Dolph. Plus... an outstanding rocking and moody new opening tune called "Sinner's Prayer" running over the credits that accompanies several added closeups of the cast as they fly back from the Somali pirate rescue mission. Totally sets up the film. I'm halfway through so far and am loving this cut.

If interested, here is a scene-for-scene breakdown of the new cut compared to the original - no details spared:

The new cut is outstanding, and it also has excellent extras including the official video of "Sinner's Prayer" (by Sully Erna of Godsmack), a 20-minute feature on Sly's directing career, and a 4-part feature length making-of documentary that is outstanding and entertaining. Highly recommended!

The Blu-ray costs $19.99, but I noticed that Walmart.com is selling the DVD version of the new cut for.... $2.99!!!

I think I'll load up on them for stocking stuffers next X-Mas. :)
