I played last night. Got the actual powerball number but that was it.

Last weekend I went into a gas station on the way home from out of state, they had one line set up just for lottery sales and the line snaked around the store and out the door-it was insane. People were buying hundreds of dollars worth of tickets and, I hate to judge, but most of them didn't appear to have hundreds of dollars to spend on lottery tickets...it's insane!!!

I'll spend maybe $4 on 2 powerball tickets when the jackpot is high. Mostly for entertainment purposes to think "What if?" for a few hours.

I used to play every once in a while when I was in college. The gas station was on the way home from the beer store on Saturday night, so it'd be a convenient stop (and Saturday was one of the two nights they draw). We always used to talk about what it would be like to find out we won while we were in the middle of a bender.

My college was in a backwater area of Pennsylvania, so I figured those were the kinds of places jackpot winners came from. No dice though, unfortunately.

When the jackpot is that high, it's stupid to not throw money at it.
