It happens frequently. Think of Rosanne as an example. Pretty genius in her creativity and pretty loud mouthed, but the balance was always tipped toward her craft, until it wasn't. And she will likely never come back from it.

You see someone like Alec Baldwin who seems to teeter back and forth but somehow has managed not to fall off the ledge (for many at least - I love the guy).

Martin Sheen is a perfect example of someone that can really take politics and his beliefs and be very vocal, but his endless talent surpasses it.

I think someone like Bruce Willis knows he's probably not the most talented actor in the world, so his beliefs are there, but he keeps a little more quiet about it.

I'm writing this because of all the Jim Carrey news this week. Frankly, his movies have not been good enough in recent years to rise above the fact that he has been insulting more than half the nation. He has probably just lost himself a lot of potential movie-goers. In his position, I think he could better support his cause without being so insulting. It's sad really.

Just my thought for the evening. Back to work.

Jason Biggs on the other hand... I'm not catholic, but what a piece of shit that guy is and this isn't the first idiotic comment of his. I mean, have some respect if your in the public eye. He never had any talent in the first place, so it's not like he is in danger of somehow not being taken seriously anymore.

Jim Carrey was always an idiot and this latest episode just further proves this point.

All that being true, my point was that her success was such that it overshadowed everything and at some point, it stopped and now people almost forget and just see her as this crazy old bat.

The big difference is all the individuals who jaxmanjoe named were born in America. All these fucking yahoos like U2 and such, they were not even born here yet they come to our country and tell us how it should be run. Toby Keith is still popular and such. Clint still churns out great movies. Chuck Norris became his own thing. He's kind of like Baldwin in that regard. He never had a ton of talent to begin with, but he is far more respectful than some of the others I mentioned. Nugent - He's been the same since day one. Great post! I agree completely. If Carrey had come out and stated his opinion respectfully, I wouldn't have a beef with him. I wouldn't AGREE with him, but at least I'd still have respect for him. Same goes for the rest of them. I would say that out of everyone on the right, Nugent would have to be one of the most extreme. I don't agree with everything he says either, but he does have some of the same ideals I have.

I just get sick of these damn actors that come out against gun violence and weapons, yet star in movies where they kill over and over with them. Just STFU already. These are the same stars that are against pollution and push saving the environment, yet fly all over the world in jets living the life of luxury that is anything BUT bad for the environment. Fuck them. Nothing but a bunch of hypocrites with silver spoons sticking out of their asses.

For me it's more subtle. I just lose interest. I never purposely don't watch someone. I just kind of move on. I think that's what happens for a lot of people.

Yep. Like I just did. I'm not commenting about law abiding citizens who just want to buy ammunition, or someone who wants to own a rifle. I'm talking about assholes who use their popularity and status to stand above the people who helped them earn their millions of dollars and disrespect them in public repeatedly. Law abiding citizens who buy these items do not shove their opinions down these celebrities throats and chastise them for their beliefs. I can...when John Mellencamp left the stage and on the big screen came this 20 minute video clip ragging on war, Bush, etc. I didn't go to his concert to see that and I never will pay to see him again because of it.

I love Mellencamp tot his day and his talent is just incredible. But I did worry when he started down that path. I knew people that really took offense. And you'll kind of notice the slide of his career coupled with his outspokenness.
