Random static and buzzing in my speakers

I have a Dell Studio 17 laptop, which is a few years old, running Win 7 home premium. All drivers are up to date and all Dell software updates have been installed and Windows has been updated too. The machine is well maintained, from a software, malware and virus protection point of view.

I can't for the life of me, figure out why I get random skips, static and buzzing sounds, when playing music from any source, be it the onboard CD / DVD player, MP3's from my collection, or YouTube videos. Sometimes I get a screen stutter on YouTube as well. It's a problem I was fighting since back when I had Vista. I did a clean install of Win 7 about a year ago, where I wiped the hard drive and installed everything from scratch.

Anyone got any ideas?

Install K-lite codec pack and see if that helps. I started using them years ago in place of my soundblaster drivers and they really did the trick.
It will load up video and audio drivers on your system that can play most anything.

It might not be software though. You could have a hairline crack on the Motherboard. Laptops are like that unfortunately.

I'll be damned! That was just the bee's knee's. Solved a lot of it.
We get radio frequency stuff where we live that even has effects on our car radios and tv, but this fixed most of the stuff that was going on with my laptop.

Thanks man!
