Someone broke into my house. He tried to attack my roommate. I know I am not supposed to use this message board as DEAR ABBY, but I could really use a lot of prayers, for my roommate especially and myself. And my finances. I interviewed yesterday. I don't know if I got it... I aced the interview, but crapped on the skills test..

The last thing I would be doing, if I felt truely in danger would be posting in a message board. Did he take out his penis and show it to you? Are you self medicating? That is a recognized disability. You could get money for it.

I already called 911. The police have already been here. I am scared, and just wanted to ask for prayers. I am sorry to have bothered.

What did he do (if anything) and what made him leave? Was he just there to rob you? Are you in a house or apartment?

I think he left because my roommate started screaming her head off. I was screaming too. He was standing in her bedroom door doing things I won't mention. I opened my bedroom door and saw him run past me. He had a on a ski mask, so we couldnt see his face. The police think he specifically targeted us, He broke through the patioin next to myu room, 30 min utes after I went to sleep. The police think he may live in the area. Supposedly sonething similar happened here two years ago.

Wow, the drama train continuously steams onward.

I asked for prayer because quite frankly I think prayer works. I consider all you to be friends, the ones I have never met IRL and the one's I have met IRL only once.

Granted I realize the thread about online dating was a little much. I agree in hindsight. Can't take it back, what is done is done. Trust me when I say the EVENTS of teh past year are not drama and are VERY REAL...


And to make it clear... I didn't post about this as it was HAPPENING.. NOt stupid. I called 911 immediately. I posted here probably an hour after the PD left.

Just because I seem coherent and matter of the fact doesn't mean I am not scared out of my beejevus. That said, I don't think he will be back and no weirdo is going to run me out of MY HOUSE! If I could do it again, I would have tripped the hell out of him.. I was that close.

Sorry to hear that, Scary. Please get a big dog. One that looks intimidating and has an intimidating bark, but is actually a teddy bear. That way he isn't a liability. It won't take much looking in the paper to find one. I would also suggest getting signs and stickers that say you have a security system. I know you can't afford the actual system right now, but the signs and window stickers would probably be enough to change the mind of a would-be intruder.

Good luck on the job you interviewed for. I hope you get it.

Thanks. My roommate has wanted a dog for a while. So I told her she can have one now. My ex boss is going to help me make my place more secure, including door and window sensors.

I'm not using the term "drama" to insinuate your story is bogus. Just saying there's lots of crazy drama stuff going on in your life. No one just goes into a stranger's (two grown women) house wearing a balaclava and I presume from your description "work his tool". My guess is this perhaps was an inside "hand" job, meaning it has something to do with your roommate or who your hanging out with. Someone did that shit at my house, they'd die with their penis in their hand.

Like I told my wife the other day, we never run into our crazy co-workers anywhere we go, but if we were to hang out in skank clubs at 1am on work nights, deal drugs on the corner, etc. etc. we'd probably start running into them. Same goes in regards to crazy drama shit happening around your life. Hang around nut jobs and crazies, nut job and crazy shit will start happening around you.

I apologize that I misunderstood your terminology. Let me reassure you, I don't hang out around crazy ANYBODY. The few people I have went on dates with as of late don't know where I live....Met them in public places.

My room has dated off and on since she moved here, but none of them have been to this house. None of them know where we live...

So your roommate is your mother or is your mother living with you and a roommate? You mention it was no one you hang out with or have gone on a date with. So you were able to recognize this about the person while they were wearing a balaclava? And this happened yesterday? Something I'd expect to see watching a "I touch myself" video. I wouldn't get a dog, the mess, the fuss. I doubt your into firearm protection. Get some other type of home security, like the sensors/alarm at least and 9-11 on the speed dial (which I'm sure you already have).

OMG! That sucks! Go and talk to someone! Help stop this from happening to anyone else! I can't imagine your fear and anger and vulnerability! I'm so sorry this happened to you and anybody that just happens to be peacefully sleeping in their home and someone like that breaks into your home! Take care! Support each other! Take Control!

It is myself and a roommate. Her family lives several states away. My family lives on the other side of the state.

I always thought a few of those gunpowder loaded replica cannons that shoot 2" lead balls would be a pretty nifty home security gadget. But since I couldn't find any cannons that matched the interior decore of our home in Jade, the wife wouldn't give me the green light on the project. I would have had them mounted just inside the entry way and aimed at the front door, rigged to go off in staggared firing order, starting shortly after the door was forced opened from outside.

There are lot's of security that can be done to your place. By the way, what kind of neighborhood do you live in in

NC? If it's Arkham city, I would seek a better "Hood". And like another poster stated, get a TWO big dogs. Nothing

like breaking inside someones home and staring at the teeth of two canines! Also, buy a shotgun. Easy to load and

they do major fucking damage.

A lot goes along with having dogs (dog turds in the yard, hair, flees, destroyed furniture, mud in the house, etc.) not to mention how you'll have to spend time with them everyday and find someone to do it when your on vacation.

If the shotgun method is what you want, as was mentinoed previously, a fully auto 12 gauge machine/shotgun could be something up for consideration.

A pump shotgun would be perfect. You wouldn't even have to load it. Everyone knows the sound of a pump shotgun being racked. All you would see is someone breaking out of your house after that sound.

Thanks. I personally don't think he is coming back. The PD have my roommate worked up saying they thought it was someone from this neighborhood, and that he had been watching us and targeting her. And she worries that maybe he is stalking and following her. I kind of feel like, in fact it only makes sense that he had been watching us. Friday into Saturday morning I was up until 4:30 am. Saturday into Sunday morning I was up until 3: 30 am, and Sunday into Monday morning I was up until 3:30, and Monday into this morning, I went to bed this monring sometime between 1:30 and 2am. He came in the back way next to my room. There are windows into a wooded area out back. He was probably watching me. He came in, or least I heard her screaming... at approximately 2:30 am.

Would it be possible for a random stranger to just hang out, and take off in a car? The car would have to been waiting out front of our town homes. Otherwise, maybe he took off into the woods. The cops said they thought he lived close by for him to have gotten away so quickly, that he lives HERE.

The fact that he was wearing a skee mask and went for her makes all the more scarier. He could have went to my room instead. My bedroom windows face out into the patio. My door is to the left of the patio doors.

Probably not. The good thing about a shotgun is, you don't even have to load it. You don't even have to see the intruder. Just let him hear you rack that thing once, and he will be gone. Whereas, with a hand gun, you're going to have to let him see you with it. If he sees you with it, and can tell you're scared, he may think you won't fire it. I pray to God you fire it, and keep firing it until it's empty. But if he thinks you won't, and if he's right, and you're not able to, he could take it and use it on you instead. I know that sounds scary, but this is very serious, life or death stuff here.

That's what you have to decide when getting a gun. You have to know that you can and will pull the trigger and take someone's life, to spare your own or someone else's. The way to rationalize that is to know you're helping mankind by ridding the earth of a harmful person. This guy may not stop doing this, and if he continues, he's going to begin harming people to satisfy whatever sick fix he's after. It's highly doubtful this guy is going to do a 180 and become a productive member of society. He's probably going to continue doing this shit until he's dead or in prison.

I suggest a dog, but if you prefer a gun, and I wholeheartedly support gun ownership, then I REALLY suggest taking a defensive handgun training course. You need to know how to use it and use it well. I don't want anything bad to happen to you, Scary.
