If you don’t want to see Styx, the fair will give you a full refund.

See, I post both Dennis and Carrot Styx information :)

Styx to Play at State Fair
August 29, 2005

The fair has some disappointing news to report this week.

Lynard Skynard has cancelled its concert because the lead singer has to have surgery on his vocal chords.

But the fair says they’ve found a great replacement. The band Styx will now be performing instead of Lynard Skynard.

The fair says they were big in the 70s and have a ton of hit songs including “I Am the Walrus” and “Come Sail Away.”

The fair is hoping that despite the cancellation, ticket holders will still want to see the show.

Doris Wallace, fair manager, said, “We’ve had quite a few calls this [Monday] morning and a lot of those calls say oh sure, course there will be some diehard Lynard Skynard fans who we will not be able to please, but we are giving refunds on tickets.”

If you don’t want to see Styx, the fair will give you a full refund. You just have to mail your ticket in or take it to the fair office.

The fair says they will give refunds up until a few hours before the show starts on Friday, September 9.

Hey, shouldn't that be Big Styx by now, or do we have to wait until an album of non-cover material?? LOL!

LOL!! I think we have to wait for a non-cover album, good idea. Maybe they can have little Tinkerbell type fairies on the cover for Pixie Styx. LOL I hope it will be a creative cover with another name that I can't pronounce

I was hoping with their latest Big Bang cd that it have something funny on it. The t-shirt Tommy was wearing was really weird with the baby, it was actually pretty creepy. Eewwwww.

Seen a few people dump on the Skynard. They are my wife's all time favorite band. Seen them several times since they began touring, Johnny Van Zandt sounds just like his brother and those guitars blaze on stage. A lot of turmoil in that band, Ronnie's widow owns the rights to the band and apparently she is a real pistol behind the scenes, dismissing key members and such. Yoko Van Zandt???? Anyway, give these guys a shot if you can, they rock. One particular great show, was TS, Frampton and LS in Bilixi MS several years ago. TS played girls with guns, blue collar man, and several songs off of his last solo album which many believe to be the best solo STYX effort.
