WHAT THE DIE HARDS WANT???

Postby yogi » Thu Sep 15, 2005 3:26 am

Dennis DeYoung's Lost Treasures shows, show he is somewhat in tune with what the 'real' Styx/Dennis fans REALLY want out of him.

Will he cater to us( die hard fans) on his upcoming release??????

What I would like out of him is another Equinox. Will that happen?? Hell no it wont. How do you repaint the Mona Lisa??

What I really would like, and think is realistic since Dennis seems now to be in tune with what his fans want are: 3 solid ballads ( Desert Moon, Paradise, Babe) 2 Power Ballads ( The Best Of Times, Lady ) 3 art rock type anthems( Suite Madame Blue, Pieces Of Eight, Queen Of Spades, Come Sail Away) 2 All Out Rockers ( Born For Adventure, The Grand Illusion, Black Wall) 2 midtempo rock songs( Unanswered Prayers, Lonely Child, This Old Man)

Damn would this be a great CD!!!

What do you all want out of his next CD??? Is Dennis listening??

Yes, Dennis can hear you loud and clear.

I heard one of the new songs (on piano) last year and TO ME, it sounded between "Come Sail Away" and "Pieces of Eight". I LOVED it right away. But then again, I'm terrible with listening to music

From what I "heard", he has been playing one of the new songs during soundcheck and will hopefully play it sometime in the near future at one of the concerts.

I'm personally excited, but again, that's just me and I get excited with the littlest things

Since Suite says he is listening, I will add one more thing.

He needs to release this new material before some of us are in a nursing home!!!

LOL - it will be added!!

There "might" be a new Christmas song released. I'm not sure if that one has been recorded yet or where it stands. I thought he said that one was done, Bugsy, do you remember?

It would be nice to add some clips on here, but I have no clue on how to do it. Too much technology. UGH

The Big Bang ones (clips) were easy to pass along.

Just not another "Boys Will Be Boys" , please, Dennis.

It will be most interesting to see what direction his music takes. A lot of the songs he is proudest of, and does in concert, many of his fans like, and he claims he is very happy with this group of new songs. So I wonder.....

Also, I listen to the three most recent songs he has written -- Hello God, Goodnight My Love, and My God Can Beat Up Your God. We get the vocal power song, the sweet, harmony ballad, and then what I think is a pretty crunchy rock song.

My guess is, his new material will reflect all of this. I have a feeling he is going to comment on what is going on in this day and age in some fashion. He has always been very good at that and I don't see that changing.

As to the Christmas song, well, Suite, it has been awhile since I heard what he had to say about it, but it is apparently finished to his satisfaction, though not recorded (maybe a demo?). I got the feeling he is just not sure what direction he should go with this song. He seems to like it very much and I think he wants it out there.

If he could get it on some site somewhere, I sure would pay to download it in a second!

Bugsy
Change your hairdo. Change your name.
Congratulations! You're still the same.

I think the name of it is "Our Song". I think it's a demo right now, and yes, it sounded like he would like it out there.

How much? LOL

I'm looking forward to his new cd, I hope it will be out by August 2006 :)
