No a customer (ex customer now since I don't work for Abita anyomore) sent me this picture. They live in BSL (Bay ST.Louis). They stayed during the storm. This picture was taken from the church they were staying in.-ERIC

Were this picture was taken, Bay St. Louis sits up on a hill about 30 feet above the water. This is the old down town area. Rest of BSL slopes down on all sides to about 5 to 10 feet in parts. All of BSL was underwater , except for the downtown area. This wave ended that. Parts of BSL was under 20 ft of water, with waves on top of that. I read the other day, that Katrina maybe reclassified, down grade, as a Cat 3 when it hit MS. Even thou it was the worst storm, strength wise to hit the Gulf.-ERIC

The actual storm itself was not the most powerful to hit the mainland U.S. In fact, right before the levees broke I remember hearing the news channels saying, "Wow, it could've been alot worse".
It was the floods that followed that made it probably the most destructive storm in U.S. history.
That's quite a photo. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Mother nature is a force not to be denied. That looks incredible. I've lived through tornadoes...but that...good lord!!!

Thanks for sharing that. And so glad that as bad as things are...you came through that (and yes I realize you didn't take the picture).
