Hey Dave,

Sorry if my departure let you down, and sorry you didn’t catch the band last time Styx was in Germany in ’99 (I was with them then).

But it’s really nice to read your letter. Styx is kind of like a corporation, run by a couple of wives, and bigger than the sum of it’s parts, which are all replaceable. It was fun making believe I was a rock star with them but my presence was ultimately unimportant and when life tapped me on the shoulder and informed me it was time for to move on and change some things about myself, I had to get outa Dodge.

Although I’d be lying if I didn’t admit I sometimes miss the professionalism, support and fans, I am presently enjoying being in control of my own daily decisions and life is better and better everyday.

Thanks for the vote of confidence and thanks for your service to our country over there (in the land of my ancestors). Take care of yourself, brother.
