Time for a new dvd?

Postby The_Noble_Cause » Mon Aug 07, 2006 9:46 pm

Live in Amsterdam's set list is severely lacking.
What's with all the damn medleys?
Those things are NEVER satisfying. Never.
The band has tackled more rareities and classics nightly on this tour, than what was captured for their LIVE dvd.
Where's Pamela, Girl Goodbye etc etc.
I hope the band has filmed some footage from the current tour.

Yeah, I agree...medleys frustrate me more than anything else..!

I believe they have something in the works...I heard Luke mention in an interview some time ago that they were planning on calling in Joe W and Steve P ( Porcaro, not Perry, ) to sit in on of the venues in US and make a DVD of that....

No news yet, so far...

That'd def. be something to look forward too.
Perhaps Andrew can confirm.

I think they're trying to get Joe and Steve P for the 30th Anniversary tour, which presumably will be next year...this is seperate from the current tour though. Hopefully they'll document this tour in some way as well, it's a great setlist. Can't wait for LA.

This is AWESOME news.
Now if only they'd drop the bastardized accoustic rendition of "Stop Loving You".
After they played it I thought, "That was neat. Now can they please play it the normal way?".
I had a distinct feeling I wasn't alone.

Amsterdam

Postby BlackWall » Wed Aug 09, 2006 4:38 pm

The Amsterdam concert was actually what made me begin to appreciate their album cuts; this never would have happened if it wasn't for the medley. Don't get me wrong, I hate them as much as the next person, but I would have never found out about gems like "English Eyes", "Girl Goodbye", and "Lion".

On another note, does anyone think there's ever a chance that the group would ask Joseph back full time?

The band has plans to shoot a new DVD next year but they haven´t finally decided on the exact city/venue/date yet.
Wether or not this will be with Joe Williams and Steve Porcaro also can´t be confirmed yet, as the band said in an interview in Feb 2006 on toto99.com, they would love to do this but it depends on the schedules of everyone..

best regards
