God Bless Ebay!

Postby Jodes » Fri Aug 18, 2006 1:53 pm

I've always wanted one of these, but everytime I saw one on Ebay, it was always 300-500 dollars!

I truely think my Styx collection is now complete.. I just need to take it in and get it engraved and it will be the higlight of my wall!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1

I think I got it for a steal of a deal!

And the cool thing is that it's not a cheap knock off, the guy I bought it from is someone who's close to the band.

Nice buy for ninety bucks. Surprised he had to take a best offer on this, but that's probably because it's an in-house award, and not an RIAA one...

I don't know, but the piece is legit..

Actually the other two people who made offers were collectors, so maybe he wanted a fan to have it.

I do recall seeing the RIAA one some time ago, and it did look very much like this one, but I don't care it's a sweet item to top off my collection!

Find a Roboto mask and we'll talk (and yes, I'm kidding).

The record awards are nice. I used to have a couple, but sold them. Display material isn't where it's at for me.

After my book is done, surgery is over, and I get back to sc.com, I will most likely get rid of a lot of stuff in my own yard sale and keep only what I really want ...

The good and bad about Styx at this point is getting collectibles comes fairly cheap unlike about 10 years ago at the height of the reunion. Very few things go for serious money.

Actually, it's my 2nd book. This is the followup to the 1st and this time around, no co-authors. Book will be done right around SQL PASS and published shortly thereafter. I've done quite a few things that are published. Books are a whole different deal, though. Writing a 100 page whitepaper is much simpler.

LOL well, you'll be the first to know - how's that?

I don't NEED to get rid of the stuff, but it's at the point where I'd rather keep what I really want (and no, the Roboto mask ain't going on the block, nor are things like the promo Crystal Ball paperweight thingy either) and once I photograph and get all the stuff up on the site, let it go to places where it will be appreciated. I mean, I have nearly every promo poster going bakc to the '70s yet will never display them. 'nuff said.

I think I've just reached that spot where the stuff is cool, but the things I'm passionate about I'd rather treasure.

Jodes, this looks legit to me. We used to have many of these around the radio station. The only thing missing is the "presented to radio station WXYZ" or whatever, it looks like that part has been peeled off. You can get your own made tho and put it in there.
