STYX DVD

Andrew has some info listed about the upcoming Styx DVD with orchestra(orchestra? what a GREAT idea!! wonder where they got it from????)

Anyway, if you look at the tracks listed there is only ONE Dennis led tune(Lorelei) (which JY has be singing since 99) in the set. There are two DDY songs in the medley. Still, this set has no Come Sail Away, Lady, Grand Illusion etc.....

"The New Styx" wants to rock I think that is GREAT. They are ditching the DDY songs, GREAT too!! Its now time for them to ditch the 'Styx' name.

' New Styx' would be perfect. Like the Cars did.

I will be purchasing this DVD once it hits the stores. The set list sounds great. I for one am looking forward to it. I wish a CD came along with it. ( Like Journey's last DVD release)!

I wouldn't be surprised if they added a cd, maybe a separate purchase. I think that's the norm now with live concerts on dvd, and a cd too.

I ordered both the new live Dream Theater Dvd and Cd.

I LOVE the track listing.

EVERYONE form both sides of the aisle here has stated that Styx and Dennis should mix it up. Well this is a TOTAL mix.

You get 2 new songs. 2 New Christmas songs( which I could care less about), The medley, Gowan's solo hit, Walrus and other material from their Copy CD, One with Everything, an orchestra & a childrens chior.

Hell this is NEW. This has been what most everyone Froy included said that Styx should do. This DVD and hopefully CD just about completely breaks them away from their meal ticket of soooo many years.

I for one am glad it doesnt showcase Come Sail Away, Lady etc...

Now lets hear the bitching that the current group is now trying to erase DDY.

Dennis has moved on. Glen has moved on. Now it FINALLY appears that Styx is moving on. Change the name to 'The New Styx' and I'll purchase 2 copies.

on this whole subject of not being able to feature dennis songs on video.......

(i have to say that i hope CSA and GI are on a cd should it be released, possibly two of the strongest songs in the format of featuring an orchestra.I know its refreshing to see such songs not featured, but they will be missed)

...........on arch allies GI was missing. But Lady was? can someone explain why this was allowed? And whats the difference with it being featured on this dvd.

Then again Everything Is Cool was missing from the Arch Allies DVD (being the strongest song in that particular set I found it bizarre, but then it turned up on 21st century live)

Lady can be replayed and re released as many times as they want due to a loop-hole in the original contract from what I understand.

As far as Everything Is Cool goes....I'm not exactly sure why that wasn't included on "Arch Allies". Kinda confused the hell outta me as well. StyxCollector.....????
