[
quote="ChicagoSTYX"]I just listened to this again and think it sounds like styx from 1978.

Coming from a guy who said the Styx Foreigner show he saw a few weeks ago was the best STYX show ever
I think we know what to do with this .

There are several reasons that I feel this way. One of them is the technical advances that have occurred over the years has made live shows sound unbelievable! Another reason is that this band is so tight right now from playing so many shows. They did not miss a note and everything sounded extremely powerful. They were really having fun. I had seen Styx in the past when DDY looked like he did not want to be there! :(

Honestly, I think it would be a fair assessment to say that there have been times where it looked like the current line up didn't want to be there either. That was the case when I saw them last year in Wisconsin in Elkhorn.

I think both sides could qualify for times of not wanting to be there...just like we all have days where work is work...and not fun to do.

HEY!!! The biggest Styx fans of all the line-ups are here in Wisconsin. At least they don't have to give away free tickets like they HAVE to in "their" hometown of Chicago. Looks they'll be doing that again for the Waukegan show.

At Summerfest even though there were 8,000+ people for the current Styx line-up, Tommy didn't really get into the show that great like he use to. I think this touring and the same crap is taking a toll on him, IN MY OPINION!

Same songs, same cities, same shit different day on and on and on for the never ending tour.

Seriously, they really need to change the set list, get more excited on stage, WANT to be there and perform like it's their first. I'm on other music forums and casual fans are saying the same thing, they can see Styx a few times a year in there area, but they play the same songs.
