Question on Kilroy..

Postby rajah2165 » Thu Oct 19, 2006 1:02 pm

Here is a question about Kilroy..

When JY sings "Double Life" is that supposed to be him as Dr. Righteous singing about the hypocrissy of those who claim to be "righteous" or is he referencing Kilroy having "two lives" - one as Kilroy and the other as the Roboto?

Rajah.. I always thought "Double Life" might have been about the resistance movement "Blending" in with society and their "rules" by day and then trying to keep rock alive/spraying rock code at night.

I don't think it's about Dr. Righteous at all. But I can where see the hip-hop hip hop hip hop cracy (I just had to say it lol) of any "dictartorship" saying one thing and doing another.

I should really get that CD out and listen to it again...

If there's any reason to drag Kilroy out, Double Life would be it! Best tune on the album!

I always thought 'Double Life' was sung by Dr. Rightous about Dr. Rightous.

I think if you look into history(minored in history) most leaders the world over have led double lives. The rules that they enforced on society were not necessarily the rules they followed. Many times they went to exact opposite of societys rules.

The line I'm schitzofrenic and so am I is one of the best ever.

GREAT song that fit the concept perfectly, as did JY's other song Heavy Metal Poisoning.

I think Double Life and Just Get Through This Night are by far the best tracks on the album.

I think Dr. Righteous is singing Double Life. The tip off for me is when he sings, "I know you're out there" right before the chorus.

That is what I tend to think too. I assume that they are supposed to stay in character for the entire album and that this is insight into the hypocrissy of those that claim "righteousness" - they really are leading double lives.

But technically, the line "I'm schitzophrenic and so am I" is an incorrect psychological diagnosis. Schitzophrenia and Multiple personality disorder are two completely different things.
