What have you done for me lately?

DDY’s creativity over the last 22 years.

Dessert Moon 1984 (most new 1 copy song)
Back to the World 1986 (all new)
Boom Child 1988 (all new)
Edge of the Century 1990 (4 new DDY songs)
10 on Broadway 1994 (all copy)
Styx Greatest Hits 1995 (I rerecording)
Styx Greatest Hits 2 (1 son of edge song)
Hunchback 1997 (all new)
Return to Paradise 1997 (1 Hunchback rehash)
Brave New World 1999 (4 new DDY songs 1 Hunchback rehash)
Ultimate Collection 1999 (1 live recording)
Live 2004 (3 new songs)

1 New Christmas song 2005
Don't Call Me Larry 2007 (tbd)

DDY has given us 8 NEW songs in the last 10 years alone! I think he needs to slow down a bit.

I thought you said you were leaving and couldn't stand the DDY Love Fest anymore?

Furthermore - how many people have even heard of Cyclorama (which - btw - is the only recording of *new* material done by Dennis' former Band (DFB) since the split). People seem to be a whole lot more interested in Dennis' "rehash"es than anything new by DFB. Same old tired argument by the same old people. I wonder how much GREAT art we'd have heard out of JY without DFB. I'm sure he'd have continued to grace our ears with the same kind of music that made him famous like "Boys For American Toys".... or "SSSSSIIIITTTTTIIINNNNNG ON TOOOOOOOP OF THE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORLD". I almost feel bad for the idiot who paid $80 for that CD when I sold it on ebay. Seriously... I bet now he's just wishing I had deficiated on a plate and mailed it to him instead. It surely would sound better than what he got.

There was also the Mike Eldred cd, the Jim Peterik cd, the unfortunate A Love Foretold.

I think releasing several live cd's, 1 studio cd of all new material, and 1 studio cd of all covers could be construed as the band not doing much either.

Personally I think both are doing what they like and making themselves happy. We as fans are free to disagree.

Peace

I needed a break. Besides, it's not a Styx board without people like me....and you.

LOL! I guess all of you are bored, especially ChicagoStyx

IMO, Dennis is doing what Dennis wants to do. IMO, He's not under any pressure from anyone to record anything. IMO I'm thinking he wants to do the new cd just right and not rush it, IMO.

IMO, I think he's very happy performing when he wants to perform and where he wants to IMO. I'm pretty sure that he has MANY requests from promoters all over for him to perform IMO.

By the way, this is all just In My Opinion - LOL

Styx not only did Cyclorama, but they also did those two Christmas Songs:

Ring The Bells For Christmas

All I Want For Christmas.

So add Just Be and Everything All The Time, and you have 17 "new" studio tracks, plus live a live version of "Ring The Bells" to round it out.

I'm not including "A Criminal Mind" because that was first a Gowan tune, nothing really changed, and I don't ever believe they re-recorded it in the studio.

I just wish the record company wouldn't realease so many live and greatest hits packages!

I was giving DDY credit for everything he wrote in the last 10 years with or without Styx But your right I need to add the book song and the other 2 if he wrote them.
