I have never heard of them either - I know the Steely Dan song! There is so much listed on here I haven't heard of, I think that California radio (at least Southern CA just plays the same songs over and over). Did you guys not listen to Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeth...? :)

Don't feel bad. The bands you listed are better than most the stuff being mentioned in the thread anyway. It is nice remember, but I didn't like half the bands or the songs being mentioned here. Loved the hard rock stuff, hated the "pop" and "New Wave" stuff.

A few obscure hard rock singles from the '80s...

I Got Mine - Motorhead

This single flopped in '83 because Motorhead fans thought it was too melodic....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9Qr8G0Lrvs

Mean Streak - Y + T

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNkrrXz8 ... ed&search=

Boyz Are Gonna Rock - Vinnie Vincent Invasion

Featuring the vocals of Robert Fleischman...and Mark Slaughter miming along....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4w0YbJPdubk

Somebody Save Me - Cinderella

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuZlZwAb68w

Recruits - Thor

This guy was best known for being able to blow up a hot water bottle on stage...except the one time he appeared on national television he couldn't do it. Here's his utterly forgettable and obscure single from 1986....from the Police Academy soundtrack....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-cyfYDRAjw

Innocent Days - Giant

Best song of 1989...by a mile....

LOVE Triumph! I saw them 3 or 4 times years and years ago and they always put on a great show (had one of the best laser light show too, LOL, that was a big thing back then). Haven't heard that one in a long time. Whether it was Rik or the drummer (can't remember his name, Mike maybe?) singing, didn't matter. :D Ahhhhh those were the days.....

I wasn't much of a Slaughter fan, but I thought Sebastian Bach was one of the better hair band vocalists.......he seemed to have great vocal control.
