Now now,there there.
It is easy for you young whippersnappers to make fun of us oletimers.
I was there with the 'Grannies' and a few grampaws like myself.
We had a wonderful day.It is not very often that a young musical group like Stryx have the time of the day for us ole geezers.
But hey they did it.Thank you so much.
One of the members Harry Bowan,I think he said his name was,let the lighter footed of us come up and spin his piano around and around.
So much fun.Around and around.
It was such a wonderful day.
Sorry if I repeat myself. We had so much fun.
Thank you Stryx.

Are you sure you were there?? Maybe it was all just a Dennis dream of mass hysterical proportions...
Is that really even Dennis?! :P

Wow, gr8! You were there! (Lucky you!!)

I understand, once everyone was settled, walkers arranged, that Current Styx came on to a wild frenzy of cane waving.
They did their usual 30 minute opener
(Setlist: Blue Collar Man
Renegade)

Then the Styx cover band came on and sang all the Styx hits.

And, of course, the Rockin’ Grannies did their inimitable covers of Metallica and Guns ‘n Roses. Their lead singer, Ethel, age 85, does a better Axl and Axl does nowadays, I understand.

Bugsy
Change your hairdo. Change your name.
Congratulations! You're still the same.

What really amazes me is with the way the world is everyone is so bent on where the album is released. It's not like you can't buy Dennis' record from anywhere on the planet. Order it off Amazon. Order it off Dennis DeYoung's web site. I listen to Vacuum (which AOR you may recognize their name since they're from your neck of the woods) and they have zero US releases, but I don't go on a forum and complain about it. I find a vendor online that sells their music and I buy it from them.

I don't understand what the big deal is.

While it is a compliment to Dennis that people are anxious to get a copy of his new CD, apparently at the nearest music store, in this day and age how hard is it to order it online? It is not that expensive either from Amazon.ca or from his website.

The US release will be a little different, but the majority of the album is right there to order and enjoy now.

Bugsy
I´m not interested to buy that canadian version because there is that song in french. I have nothing against french language or french people but in my opinion it breaks the consistency of album when there is songs in different language. I want entirely english version or if Dennis would have decided to release the whole album in french I would have been OK with that too. If american version comes sooner than european I may consider to buy it from internet instead of waiting it to come to my nearest record store.

The difference here is, of course, the headliner was Dennis. The crowd was not there to see any other bands. 8)

Where was this pic taken, Bugsy??

Holy crap! Now THAT is a crowd picture :) You can see how far back the crowd goes. Did anyone else notice the video camera? That is I'm sure for the in-house video feed that people watch when they are TOO FAR FROM THE STAGE :)

Another free show in a chicago burb!! I think this was the Lombard, IL has been fest!

Is this the same free venue where Current Styx opened for a Styx cover band and the Rockin' Grannies? Yeah. I think so. 'Bout 50 people showed up.....to see the cover band and the Grannies.

Bugsy

Falcon ,as you can see,the joke about Styx opening for a Styx clone band ,is Bugsy's.
You have to try a little harder there champers.
Jesus loves you ,but everybody else thinks you're a knob.
